Fairhaven Guesthouse

Flame and Raven have established a great homey and very well taken care of guest house. It's like a home away from home. It's very easy to relax here. It's adjacent to a nice city park. It's close to the river, which is also a park. It's very easy to access downtown Charlottesville.

Modest exterior residential neighborhood but very nice interior accomodations. Bus stop across the street down to the right about 7 houses. Middle class residential neighborhoid gives you a feel for that sector of Charlottesville. Easy access to all major points.

My daughter and I stopped in to attend a conference in Charlottesville. The hosts were very warm and inviting. The kitchen was stocked with many organic foods that even I could eat! I don’t do added sugar or gluten so I normally just count on going without in a situation like this but they had MANY choices. I liked being able to make my own breakfast and not feel the pressure of eating something out of politeness. It was also nice that I could use the fridge for personal items. They have excellent coffee with just about every way you could ask to make it. I liked the lack of TVs making noise through the house. Loved their overall way of living, it was very much in line with mine. All natural soaps, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Composting, cloth napkins, solar power, you get the idea. But I would say the best part was their warmth. They just really did a good job at making us feel right at home. Also, the location was excellent. So close to everything. Checking in and out was easy and hassle free. Color coded keys were a nice added touch. Oh! And the price was out of the world for the area and the food choices. Would definitely recommend staying.

The friendliest and most generous guesthouse of our travels. Bedrooms are small and you share a bathroom with guests staying in the other 2 rooms. Hosts Raven and Flame live downstairs. But this all works smoothly because of the welcoming environment hosts Raven and Flame have created. They go out of their way to introduce everyone and make them feel welcome. And they supply a very generous selection of organic produce - including great coffee and every possible kind of coffee maker. The result is breakfast is a convivial and friendly affair. And it is well organised and immaculately clean and tidy. The recommendations for dining out were excellent - all within walking distance and produced the best meal of our trip - shrimp and grits at the Beer Run. Highly recommended
