Edgewater Inn- Charlevoix

Ok place. Great location. Check in was weird. Check in after 4. we got there at 5 and no one around. you get 1 hour window to arrive and talk to some one. Room looked nice. Floor needs to be replaced badly. Whole hotel is stuck in the 80s with mediocre maintenance (dont mind the style but it has to be maintained). LOTS and LOTS of small things that are worn out/need replacing. What staff we saw (extremely limited) was nice. I requested the room be 'scent free' (no air fresheners and fabric softeners.) They did a fantastic job with that. The staff was super polite. Bathroom had 1 and 1/8th roll of toilet paper. I had room cleaning come in hoping they would restock us. nope. no one at the front desk to ask. I had to take toilet paper from the mens room in the lobby. 130 a night? yes! not bad. 200 a night? borderline. 400 a night? oh hell no. I've stayed at 5 star. this is NOT on par. Go there. dont expect 5 star. Location was wonderful. staff was good. building needs some TLC.

We've been staying at the Edgewater for nearly 20 years, and have watched it continually deteriorate. The location is fantastic. Unfortunately, the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Because we've had problems in the past, I called ahead on the day of our arrival to request that the three units we rented be clean, and spider free - including the patios, and patio furniture. I was assured by front desk personnel that this would be the case, but sadly .... it was not. There were cobwebs and spiders inside our units, The patios were over run with spiders, and chairs were covered in spider feces. The manager did come down with a broom and some cleaner for the chairs, but that was a temporary fix. The next day I discovered the comforter and blanket on my bed were also dirty. Makes me wonder if the sheets were even changed prior to my arrival! YUCK! Upon request, housekeeping dropped off fresh towels and emptied the trash. The bed was left unmade, floors were not mopped, coffee packets and bathroom toiletries were not refreshed. The pool area was dirty and spider infested, as well. Overall, a very disappointing stay. If you book a room, I recommend you pack a gallon of Home Defense, you'll need it.

This is a beautiful place to stay. Wonderful view We are not able to visit this year due to the Hugh price increase from last year. Also there was no service last year, no fresh towels. No garbage pick up. The common hall areas were in dire need of a vacumn. A nice place tat charges too much and needs some TLC.

Excellent place to stay to explore Charlevoix. Nicely decorated 1 bedroom condo #102 with south facing patio to sit outside and enjoy Round Lake with a beverage or a take away meal. Full kitchen, very nice pool and a sauna. Best was very short walking distance to dozens of shops, restaurants, pubs, and wine tasting places.
