The Quarters on Vendue

Their website says: The Quarters on Vendue is a luxury boutique hotel in Charleston, South Carolina. Nope! It also says: The hotel offers guests an upscale lodging option. Nope! Had to call for towels after we were given two bath towels, one hand towel and two wash cloths for two of us for a three-night stay! On our last night we found and killed three palmetto bugs (large/gross) in our room. We left the lights on all that night, and I did not sleep as I kept looking around the room for more bugs. When I asked management to refund my money for the last night, I was denied. They did reimburse the $70 cleaning fee only and said it's not uncommon to find these so close to the water. Baloney!

The location was great, right downtown, but the noise from the AC compressor on the roof was unbearable.

Great experience It was a lovely room in a great location. Centrally located. One of only 3 rooms in the building. It was comfortable and spacious!! We received numerous emails with information and instructions, all easy to follow. The parking garage was around the corner and easily accessible. And, after leaving, I realized I left a few articles of clothing in the closet which they quickly mailed out to me. An overall great experience!!!

Not price worth and a lot of things that could have been better. We stayed in room 102. - Wi-Fi didn’t work/reach to the bedroom at the end of the corridor. - Cockroach running over the floor. - No windows in neither of the bedrooms. - Windows in kitchen had a view of a brick wall. - Coffeemaker but no coffee. - Smell of molde in all clothes when I came home. - A guy selling sightseeing tours on the street outside the apartment building knew the door code to get in. The only good thing was the location.

Staff is super attentive. Room was great. Emailed back within minutes everytime. Took care of all our needs and then some. Wonderful fluffy pillows and plenty of towels. Ac was cold and they added a fridge which was great!

This is not a boutique hotel as advertised. This is really more of an Airbnb. While I love staying in Airbnb spaces, for this trip we wanted the hotel. The Quarters on Vendue does not have a front desk, valet, housekeeping, fresh towels, water availability, concierge services, etc of a true boutique hotel. We had the room on the second floor with an assigned code to enter both the room and the building. The photos shown on the booking site do not reflect what we received. There is no seating area, kitchen area, etc in rental space assigned to us for our trip. We only had a bedroom and bathroom (mold in the shower, lights not working, and weird toilet seat) which did not include a table or place to put our luggage other than the floor. When we arrived after a long day of travel, our room had not been cleaned. The on duty person (reached via phone) offered to have someone come right away. The room was cleaned by 5p and the management offered a slight discount for the inconvenience. The location was great! Walkable to everything we wanted to see - the market, tons of restaurants and rooftop decks, the provost, the battery, rainbow row, the many churches, and waterfront park. In the end, we thought we were getting boutique hotel but ended up in an airbnb.
