Notus Chania Crete

Well, there are some things to address. But let's start with the positives. TLDR; For approx 160 EUR/night I expect much better service, however, the location was good. Hotel description could be much better and you can at least expect hot water 24/7. Positive stuff: Close to everything, famous places and restaurants, even beaches. Fairly easy to find parking Good AC Room service lady was the nicest person. Very friendly and helpful. Stable free wifi Good TV Balcony and decent view. Negative: Not same room as I booked, I booked a deluxe studio and pictures had changed. Maybe management changed the room types and missed that? Not sure but I wasn't too happy. Reception was not open that much, everything was self service and I was sent info about everything. Didn't matter really, only person I talked too was the room service lady. She was friendly never talked to someone in the reception. Room was not in the best shape. Very negative stuff: No hot water in the room 24/7. Coming back late from a wedding, going to airport early or long day out? Want to take a want shower here? Forget about it, only cold, I can't understand how this is a hotel with not having 24/7 hot water. When booking hotel stated free reserved parking. There is not, the free parking was street parking outside the hotel and a open are 100-200m away. Not a problem really but I booked this hotel cause it was stated parking was included and it was not.

Fabulous stay This small hotel was excellent. Very clean, nice big room with big comfy bed. Lovely touches such as complimentary water, juice, coffee. Plus cups, plates and bowls in case you had a take out. Location just on the edge of city but minutes to the sea and everything the beautiful city has to offer.

We stayed at this "hotel' in our holidays in Oktober. It was awful hotel in a very very very noisy area. Every night we saw drunk people outside the street and young guys riding their motorcycles!!! We had a baby and this hotel it was not appropriate for babies or children. We wake up on a Saturday morning and outside thew hotel were full of kiosks selling vegetables. I will not reccommend this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of hotels around much better and more quiet and peaceful.

How lucky I was to have chosen Notus Hotel! Perfect central location in old Chania town and yet quiet and peaceful. All points of interest are within walking distance as are excellent restaurants and bars. The room is well equiped; A/C, comfortable large bed, fridge (which had water, a beer and small bottle of wine for free), kettle, coffee machine, plates and cutlery. The bathroom has a hair dryer, shampoo and soap. All is soptless! Loved the Saturday street market bemow my balcony! The owner, Manolis, is the perfect host! He is there to greet you in the morning and you can ask him about anything, always helpful and he gives great advice on where to go and what not to miss. And a big thank you to Monica, who is part of the cleaning staff, for he good mood and kind smile you offer every morning. If I come back to Chania, I’ll be back at Notus !

What a fantastic find. The hotel was excellently located, extremely clean and everything for your comfort was thought of. As a solo traveller I felt so safe and very taken care of at Notus. The staff were delightful and there with help at every turn. You are in the heart of Chania but on the quiet side. Saturday morning market is fabulous such a lively time. I can’t wait to return.
