Weekends away Idea for a weekend away

This pub hotel is lovely but we had an upstairs room in the chalet block. Sloping roofs in bathroom and bedroom. Hot my head a couple of times - next time we will request ground floor or cottage rooms.

Good size carpark, just make sure you put in the number plate in th terminal at the bar Check in at the bar all information given and shown where the room was In a different building at the back of the pub Up a flight of stairs. Room is a good size as was the shower room Bed super comfortable Wifi excellent Shower good Breakfast not included but could add on if wanted in the morning Location is in a small village lots of nice walks close by Evening meal was excellent good choices and great value would definitely stay again if in the area.

Nice area The room was nice enough, very clean, pleasant view over the garden, staff were excellent, nice pint of Guinness. Food very good

The White Hart at st Giles The room was very clean with comfortable beds. The only criticism was that the room was exceptionally warm but the weather was very hot. This was room number 1, the other rooms seemed to be housed in a separate block.

A good find Many positives - Matthew and his staff provided great, friendly service; the cleanliness was excellent and the food tasty. When we stayed builders were working on outside upgrades and could not do more to help minimise any disturbance. We had booked a superior room which we got but this was based on photos we had seen on line showing a walk in shower. The room was spacious overall however, the wardrobe was a very small cupboard with no lighting outside it and a big negative was the bathroom. We could accept it was small and that the shower was over a bath but despite the pristine bath and sink, at some point the bath panel and it's shelf had been removed. Gaps had been left, mastic not replaced, a rusty screw left sticking out and all of these gave a tatty, grubby appearance. This let down the efforts of the cleaning team. We reported this impression when we left to the lady on duty and she said that following the outside work the accommodation was to be upgraded but we feel that if this cannot be improved in the meantime this particular room (5) should not be offered as superior. That said we would certainly stay here again in a different room.
