Raccoon Lodge (part of Coops Creek Cabins) is a comfortable 300 square foot cabin nestled in a cozy, wooded hollow on Coops Creek. We are adjacent to the Historic Dunlap Coke Ovens Park, and only one mile from the center of town - giving our visitors a quaint, secluded accommodation with the convenience of staying in town. Centrally located, visitors can enjoy day trips to Chattanooga, Crossville, McMinnville, Jasper, Murfreeboro, Woodbury, etc. (This includes Fall Creek Falls State Park and Cumberland Mountain State Park.)Hike the nearby trails, check out the many local restaurants and shops, take day trips to many tourist attractions, or just hang out in this cozy cabin and relax all day.Raccoon Lodge has all the comforts of home: a snug loft bedroom (accessed by a ladder), a comfortable sofa bed with a memory foam mattress and optional air mattress, a back deck overlooking Coops Creek, a firepit, a small kitchen with all the basics provided for cooking simple meals, a full bathroom with a stand up shower, central heat and air, an electric fireplace, direct access to the Coke Ovens Park and Museum including hiking trails, plus much more. Commuting into the city is very simple with almost always very light traffic. There are many trailheads in close proximity to the site such as Prentice Cooper State Park, Rainbow Lake, South Gulf trailheads, South Cumberland State Park, Fall Creek Falls, and many more. If you are living more on the wild side enjoy paragliding off the same mountain side just minutes away. There are horse farms surrounding the property with many different kinds of animals.
