The Flambeau Hideaway, located 20 minutes outside of Mercer, WI, is our 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin that sits on the shores of Lake Bastine, one of the original lake basins located on the west-central portion of Turtle Flambeau Flowage. The Flowage consists of over 14,000 acres & over 90% of the surrounding land is state owned & undeveloped; which gives off that true wilderness feel. So many outdoor activities! That’s the beauty of the Northwoods - snowmobiling, skiing, fishing, hiking LIST GOES ON!Species of fish on the Flowage include: walleye, musky, largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch, panfish, northern pike and sturgeon. If you are planning on fishing during your stay, please don't hesitate to contact us, as Bret, the owner of the cabin, spends a lot of time on the water and can help provide safe navigational routes and point you in the right direction to have a successful day of fishing. We can also give guide recommendations as well. Every season at the cabin has some sort of outdoor activity to experience. That’s the beauty of the Northwoods, you cant go wrong when to visit, there is outdoor beauty and activity every season! Winter: Direct access to Snowmobiling. The area also offers Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fat bike trails, ice fishing. Spring: Great time to enjoy the areas 12 waterfalls as the snowfall melts from winter months. Watch walleyes spawning and enjoy opening fishing season for walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass. Musky season opens at the end of May. Summer: Boating, fishing, swimming, wildlife, outdoor bonfires Fall: Enjoy all the leaves changing colors in your car, on your ATV, or bike. We have great late season fishing. The fish are eating extra to fatten up for the winter months. Whether you choose to snowmobile, ATV, bike, boat, ski, hike, fish or simply relax you can do it all here at Flambeau Hideaway. There are a few restaurant/food options in close proximity to the cabin. Donners Bay is a half a mile down the road. The Midway is about 3 miles away from the cabin. Dear Lodge is a 10 minute drive and has excellent pizza. There is a wide assortment of other restaurants/bars along FF. The town of Mercer is 15 miles away and Manitowish Waters is about a 35 minute drive from the cabin. There are many super club options in both of these towns. Nordvann Cabin is a newly refreshed 3 bedroom lakefront cabin nestled on Echo Lake. The bedrooms provide a queen-sized master bed. The corner bed is a cozy full-sized bed and the last provides a bunk bed with a full/twin-sized bed. The cabin also has two queen-sized pull-out sofas, a game room with a poker table and arcade game along with a bar for entertaining. Its 74' of eastern shores provide the best sunsets in the area nightly. Enjoy sitting on the private pier or enjoying a campfire and roasting marshmallows. Crack out the corn hole boards or bocce balls and let the fun begin. For those who wish to snowmobile or UTV, Nordvann sits on the Iron County Snowmobile/UTV trail#8 and grants you access to over 300 miles of trails in both WI and UP! The large level lots allow for plenty of parking spaces for trailers, UTVs and sleds. If you're a Cross country skier or a hiker, the MECCA trailhead is a mere 5-minute drive to groomed trails. For bikers, the Heart of Vilas trail starts in Mercer and offers over 50 miles of paved bike paths with small bridges and winding trails. Great location to many ski hills: Scenic 35 min drive to several ski hills, including Mt Zion, Snowriver, Big Powerhorn in UP and Whitecap and Minocqua Winterpark in WI. And day trips will take you through the wilderness to waterfalls or take a short day trip up to the Apostle Islands. Echo Lake is a 206-acre full rec lake with a public launch just a half-mile away. Echo Lake is a wonderful lake for peaceful fishing, canoeing and kayaking. The lake is stocked with Walleye and is home to Muskie, Northern Pike, Large and Smallmouth bass and panfish. The cabin sits directly adjacent to Carow Park with a full Soccer Field, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Playground and Swimming Beach. The Northernwood is an ideal cabin for the adventurous couple or family. Three bedrooms (two bedrooms with queen size beds and one with two twin beds), two baths, great room, washer/dryer, fireplace and outdoor fire pit all add to the comfort/charm of your north woods experience (firewood is not guaranteed, you can pick some up in town). Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker, ice maker and microwave. Over three acres on a dead-end road provides you with privacy even though you are less than four miles from the quaint town of Mercer with its many shops, restaurants and other amenities. There is direct access to both snowmobile and ATV/UTV trails, and only 2 blocks from shared access to Spider Lake.
