Welcome to Sheep Creek Cabin A! This beautifully appointed cabin comes fully equipped to host your family on your next Montana adventure. Whether you want to fish the blue ribbon waters of The Madison River or explore the natural wonders of Yellowstone National Park, our cabin's location will not disappoint you. Nestled into the Madison valley, surrounded by towering peaks, it is conveniently located between Ennis and West Yellowstone near the intersection of highway 287 and highway 87. This 20 acre property is about 50 miles southeast of Ennis and 32 miles northwest of the entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The Sheep Creek Cabin A complex consists of two structures. Both Cabins have brand new heat and AC systems! Stay warm or cool no matter what the weather is doing outside!! The main cabin features a nicely appointed kitchen and dining room, with a large primary bedroom with king size bed on the main floor. ***Note to prior guests: we have just done an addition and added this brand new bedroom for the 2025 season! All work is done by the original cabin builder, maintaining the quality, aesthetics, and views of the cabin. The main cabin also has a loft bedroom with three twin beds (can be configured as a king and a twin). There are comfortable leather sofas and a TV with high speed fiber streaming available in the living room as well. In the back portion of the cabin there is a washer, dryer, and full bathroom. Wireless high speed internet service and a phone line are also provided for use during your stay. The views from this cabin and its patio will take your breath away. Mountain ranges rise out of the sage brush flats in all directions creating a landscape that is sure to inspire you. Steps away from the main cabin sits a separate sleeping cabin that contains a full size bed, queen size bed, and full bathroom. The Sleeping Cabin is located close enough for kids or guests on your trip yet also allows them their own space. This makes for a perfect setup for two couples or two small families. Outside on the deck you will find chairs for relaxing and a BBQ grill for those evening cookouts!Wildlife abounds at times on the property as well as numerous places close by. Some of the creatures that can be seen from the cabins depending on the season are antelope, mule deer, bighorn sheep, coyotes, moose, rabbits, and bald eagles. If you take the scenic drive into West Yellowstone there are grizzly bears and wolves on display every day at the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery center. Then grab lunch and milkshakes in town and head into Yellowstone National Park for a day of hiking, sight seeing, and photography. There are usually bison, moose, elk, deer, wolves, and more running wild around the 2,219,823 acre Park. Yellowstone Park is also home to the 109 foot tall Yellowstone falls, Old Faithful Geyser, and the numerous hot pots and hot springs. In the nearby streams, rivers, and lakes you will find many species of trout awaiting the perfectly cast fly or lure. The Madison River located about a mile away, as the crow flies, is the #1 rated Blue Ribbon trout fishing river in the state. Or head a few scenic miles south into Idaho for more world-class fishing on Henry's Fork of the Snake River. If you prefer fishing on lakes or recreating with a boat, that's close by too. There are numerous lakes within a very short drive (less than 10 miles). These include: Quake Lake, Hebgen Lake, Henry's Lake, Conklin Lake, and Cliff and Wade Lakes. There are several locations to rent boats, kayaks, canoes, and float tubes. Also near by are shops to buy fishing supplies, or sign up for guided fishing trips or horseback adventures!Still looking for more to do? Take a drive to Virginia City. This is one of the neatest small towns in Montana. It has entertaining shows, great restaurants and bars. Or drive to Lewis and Clark Caverns and awe at the stalagmites and stalactites in a guided tour through the miles of underground caves and tunnels. Need another national park? Teton National Park is only two and a half hours away. Want to get your heart racing? Maybe go ziplining in Big Sky or white water rafting on the wild end of the Gallatin River. When it comes to food there are two restaurants within 10 miles of the cabin and many more just a little further down the road. There are well stocked grocery stores in Ennis, Island Park, and West Yellowstone as well. If you're looking for an evening cocktail there are numerous watering holes just down the road that are sure to wet your whistle. By now you know there's more than plenty to keep you entertained. Quiet location on a 2-acre homesite, Earl's Cabin is a hand hewn log cabin built in the 1930s and named after its former resident, a local musician. It is warm and welcoming and has everything you'll need. Old school? Try the old log outhouse. More future minded? It's a compost toilet for you.Set near the base of the Ruby Mountains (less than one mile from the world famous Ruby Springs Lodge), the skies and mountain ranges will remind you why there is no beauty like mother nature. There is a 2-burner stove and microwave, but more importantly a grill off the deck! It won't be hard to decide what's for dinner as you can catch large trout in the waterways bordering the property. A 2-minute drive will bring you to the Ruby River, a few more to the Madison, Big Hole, and so on. Just ten miles from Virginia City, you can catch a show, belly up to the famous Pioneer Bar, or go on a ghost tour. It's a fun little Western town that will take you back in time. Be careful driving back, we have a lot of deer in this part of the country. You'll likely see them walking through the yard. Along with the fox who lives across the road with her family. That 'hoot' you'll hear at dark are the owls talking and the blanket of stars are something you'll never forget. We call it Big Sky Country for a reason. A cozy place to crash, romantic getaway or a solitary escape, (great writer's cabin!), you'll like it here so much you won't want to leave. We didn't.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Adults only.About customRules:DO NOT MOVE FIRE PIT.
