Enjoy a fun, relaxing stay at our completely renovated chalet in The Woods Resort in beautiful Berkeley County, WV--a 90-minute drive from the Washington DC-Baltimore Metro Area. You'll be in the heart of the WV Eastern panhandle, close to Sleepy Creek, Berkeley Springs, Cacapon State Park, Antietam National Battlefield, and more. The Woods Resort has a wealth of amenities including a spa, restaurant, two golf courses, three swimming pools, tennis, pickleball, fitness, and playground. Your reservation includes one guest passe for the resort amenities for each member of your party, which is good for one day at the resort, and additional passes can be purchased for $7.50 each.Coffee: We have a Ninja Dual Brew, which uses K-pods and ground coffee, and an electric kettle. There is a selection of K-pods, tea, and hot cocoa in a drawer in the island, and a selection of ground coffee and a Chemex-style pour over beaker in the lower lazy susan next to the oven. Kitchen: In addition to the items on the counter (toaster, knives set, coffee maker, electric kettle) there is a blender, hand mixer, and Instapot in the island cabinet.Bathrooms: Each shower is equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There is also a hair dryer in Bathroom 1.Hot Tub: The hot tub is serviced weekly and drained and refilled quarterly. There are very basic controls for temperature up/down, jets on/off, and light on/off. Please do not eat in the hot tub and be careful with beverages (there are drink holders!) Also, please keep the cover on when not in use because bugs and stuff from the trees will get in. If there are any issues with the condition of the hot tub, please let us know.Games: There are games and puzzles in the drawers of the coffee table in the Sunroom. Stools can be used to gather around the game table. Children's Items: There is a small selection of toys in the chest in the loft, and children's books on the shelves. There is a port-a-crib and a table mounting high chair in the closet of Bedroom 2. There are children's utensils, plates, and cups in the corner cabinet in the kitchen.Fireplace: The fireplace remote is on the wall next to the kitchen closet. The fireplace will cycle on/off based on the temperature setting on the remote. The fireplace generates a lot of heat! Please do not operate the fireplace and the AC at the same time. There is a light effect setting for warm weather.Firepit: There is a lighter in the cabinet above the fridge. you can gather kindling throughout the property, and there is firewood stacked next to the shed. There is a box of scrap wood inside the shed that you are also welcome to burn, but watch out for nails, screws, and splinters that may be embedded in the scrap. Cardboard or newspaper is excellent for starting fires.Keys: There are keys hanging in the sun room. The small silver key is to the shed. The brass key opens the closet in the hallway if you run out of linens or paper goods. The silver key is for the door between the sun room and great room. (there is no reason to ever lock that door, but just in case.) There is a pick to open the other doors, and a small plastic key to lock the straps on the hot tub cover if you need additional protection against children accessing the hot tub. Please return all keys to the hook in the sun room.Emergencies: There is a first aid kit in Bathroom2 (closest to the kitchen) and a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink. If there is a power outage, there are flashlights, lanterns, and candles in the cabinet above the fridge.Neighborhood Cat: There is a friendly and fearless black and white tomcat who roams the neighborhood. We call him Tux. He acts like he owns the place. Please don’t let him inside, but by all means enjoy his company.Check Out Instructions: If you used dishes or utensils, please put them in the dishwasher and start it before you leave. Although the cabin is the forefront to 23,000 acres of forest (Sleepy Creek Wildlife Reserve) you are a part of the larger community of cabins in the golfing resort ‘The Woods’. It has everything you could need for a relaxing time away- high speed internet, gorgeous views, and plentiful wildlife. The cabin's open floor plan is perfect for entertaining with a full kitchen opening to the living room’s two story vaulted ceiling. The cabin has 1 bedroom and an open loft with room for many people to sleep. There is a mudroom to put all of your bags, coolers, and whatever else you may bring. There is a cozy reading nook leading out onto a large panoramic deck. The private primary bedroom houses a queen size bed and closet. The loft has one queen bed, two twin beds, and a twin floor bed. We also provide a pack and play and highchair for our younger guests that may be staying.The standard kitchen includes stainless steel appliances (including a full-sized refrigerator with freezer and oven with stove top), a traditional drip coffee maker, a toaster oven, toaster, microwave, blender, crockpot and all the pots, pans, and utensils you'll need. C&O Towpath and Western Maryland Rail Trail are accessible in Hancock, MD for those who have an interest in cycling. The cabin is also only 1 hour away from Whitetail Resort, known for snowboarding and skiing, as well as tubing for younger children. There are also many trails in the resort through the forest. You may see them driving through the neighborhood- which is one of our favorite things to explore and walk!Being close to Berkeley Springs, WV it is near many natural hot spring baths. Shepherdstown, WV and Harpers Ferry (Bolivar), WV are nearby as well. Both historic areas offer restaurants and shopping that are a nice way to explore the area around you. Martinsburg, WV is 20 minutes away where you can ride the rail access via Amtrak and MARC across the state for amazing views. You can also take the train into DC for a day exploring museums and monuments as well!The Woods Resort offers 36 holes of golf with mountain views as well as a full service spa and restaurant. Peaceful Pines is a beautiful, luxurious mid-century cabin where the main objective is relaxation. Great for a girls weekend, multiple family or generation trips! Plenty of room to stretch out and have your own space. Go hiking, swim at the pools, go golfing, use the projector on the covered porch, curl up in front of the fire with a good book or play board games. Peaceful Pines cabin offers all of that and more. We are less than 2 hours outside of DC, but it feels like a world away.NEWLY RENOVATEDCompletely renovated in 2023, the cabin has 2.5 new, luxury bathrooms, four bedrooms and a fully stocked renovated kitchen with granite countertops. The newly decorated bedrooms have top-of-the-line mattresses and linens. On the main floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and one with a king bed. The main floor bathroom is completely remodeled with a large walk-in shower. You also have access to a grill on the deck, with propane provided. When you wake up, enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea on the deck with the Keurig and provided supplies (K-Cups, sugar, creamer packets). We also have a traditional drip coffee machine.Make use of the high-speed WiFi to stream your favorite movies and shows on the smart TV's in the living room and main bedroom (please bring your own login). If you'd rather disconnect for a while, you can hang out in the hot tub or around the firepit, or take a walk down to the beautiful creek and listen to the sounds of nature for a while (the walk back up can be a little challenging). For the firepit, we always try to keep a good supply of firewood for our guests to use. Inside, keep warm on the vegan leather sofa by the fireplace and have fun with the board games.If you venture out, there are 36 holes of golf, a spa, and a restaurant right within our community, The Woods. Beyond that, there are several charming towns with really good restaurants and nice shops nearby, including Berkeley Springs, which is one of the best small towns in the country. You can also hike the many trails in the area, tour local wineries and distilleries, and explore our history in Harpers Ferry. To include your them in your reservation, please select the number of pets you'll be bringing in the "add guests" section.The cabin is easily accessible via paved roads. There is a big driveway where you can park several cars and a carport to keep your car protected if you'd like. The community clears snow off of the paved roads, but not the driveway, so if it snows a lot or icy conditions are forecasted, we would suggest parking at the top of the driveway (which is close to the cabin) if you don't have a 4WD. There is a snow shovel available just in case you need it. This is not normally a problem... we just want you to be aware of the weather so you can prepare if needed.The cabin is baby friendly and has a high chair, pack 'n play, baby gate for the stairs, and outlet covers. Please be aware that the rails of the loft railing are spread apart wider than normal, which is great for the view out the back window, but not so much for unattended small children in the loft.We have 2 outdoor security cameras - 1 in the carport and and 1 at the screen door. They are always on and record on motion for security purposes.We have a strict NO SMOKING policy.Please Note: Staying at our cabin, you will be able to use the golf course and spa (additional fees apply).
