Gidleigh Park- A Relais & Chateaux Hotel

Well, what can I say? A stunning location, exquisite food and the best afternoon tea I have ever experienced. This was a treat for my partners Birthday (in relation to this, a free Pumpkin Pie was given to us without prompt!). Our coats were taken, we were offered to sit wherever we please and we selected the drawing room window. WHAT A VIEW! The service from entrance to exit was phenomenal. From doors being held open for us, to politely waiting patiently outside the room for us whilst we were on our way to pay the bill. Every single aspect of today’s experience was well polished, a service of Royal Standard. We will definitely be coming back. The food was incredible and well worthy of the two Michelin Star quality standard you would expect. We would love to stay here with you all sometime and we will be back to try out the festive Afternoon Tea. (It seems everyone wants to meet our new baby!) I do not often go visit this site to leave reviews, but this one is thoroughly deserved. The gentleman that welcomed us today was exceptional in his attention to detail, the ladies in the hallway when we left- very polite and warm, and Cole (on his first day!) was fantastic. A great team, a stunning location, and the most formal dining you will experience in Devon, topped off with beautiful surroundings / views.

A beautiful hotel set in lovely gardens on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Very good standard of food. The classic room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Perfect for a relaxing break once you have negotiated the 1.5 mile single track road to the hotel!

A most enjoyable and relaxing time on a special weekend away. The setting is stunning in the Dartmoor National Park. The levels of service, from reception, dining to housekeeping was exceptional, We were looked after so well - nothing was too much bother. They get it all just right. We look forward to returning.

This is simply a wonderful country house hotel. Its location, just below Dartmoor and with the River Teign meandering through the grounds, is beautiful, and the levels of comfort and hospitality are impeccable. The restaurant has been famous for many years, and both dinner and breakfast services are excellent, entirely worthy of their Michelin star. I would particularly commend the staff, who are extremely professional, and combine the polish you expect at a Relais & Chateaux member with being extremely warm and welcoming.
