We are newlyweds and booked the valentines special weekend for our very first valentines together. We loved the beautiful scenery, our cottage and our spa treatment. We loved it so much that we planned to book another week long stay in the fall upon check out. We thought we had found our "place". All that changed when we went to the special valentines dinner. We arrived at 7:05 for our 7:15 seating. There were a few people in the waiting area and the earlier seating was still being served. We waited for a total of one hour and forty minutes to be seated for our meal. Many people who came in after us were seated before us. Names were not called. It appeared that whoever grabbed a server and asked to be seated were seated. We were among the last to be seated, though we were among the first to arrive. It was standing room only in the waiting area and my husband has a medical condition that makes it very difficult for him to stand for long periods. Once seated, our drink order wasn't taken. The appetizer was one very small crab cake. The serving of soup was just a half a bowl. By this time, I was in tears and my husband was in pain. I asked for the remainder of our meal to be packaged to go. Our first valentines celebration ended terribly and with huge disappointment. When we finally had our carry-out meal, it was a tiny portion with just three shrimp. The waitress apoligized and said that they would comp our meal, but we had already paid for our meal with our package. Needless to say we did not book the week-long stay that we had planned. Our first valentines day was ruined by a very poorly served and prepared meal. So disappointing!
