The front desk folks I encountered over my two night stay were so pleasant and accommodating I hate to slam the place with a two star rating. The property has the bones to be a decent budget hotel. The halls and rooms were quite dated, but clean. But I wondered what would be the next thing not to function. I stayed there specifically because of the coin laundry and and the outside pool. The side door lock didn't work , which created a potential security problem. There is a cycling floodlight outside my window, which fortunately the blackout curtains mitigated. Burned out light bulbs around pool. Coin laundry broken. And the pool was closed by the department of health. It wasn't so bad that we left. But we weren't sorry to go. And I can't imagine or staying there again.

Didn’t even make a reservation and I’m writing this. I was already hesitant to stay based on the reviews. I had enough points for a free night and figured I’d use during my travels. I didn’t want to book until I stepped into the lobby. And here I was, in a lobby that smelt like piss. Then a teenager comes from behind the wall and doesn’t even greet properly. Then he goes to the computer and starts naming off names like I had booked a reservation. I told him I didn’t book yet. I simply walked out. Something is off about this place and needs a health inspection. Maybe look into the people who work there too. Never staying at Sonesta hotels again. I went down the street afterwards and got a hotel for $100. Well worth paying for another hotel than staying there for free.

I get a bit frustrated when I see subpar reviews on a hotel that is half the price of anywhere else in town. This fits the bill. The reason we decided on this place is because it was half the price. So why would I have double the expectations at half the price? If you have correct expectations, this place is great! The room was big, it was clean, it had working AC, TV, fridge, and the beds were comfortable. Pool and hot tub. It's older, and could use a little love. But I would expect the price point to go up when it does. So just know what you're paying for, and it will be great!
