We only recently began staying at Hilton branded properties after purchasing a Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare ownership. We have been loyal Marriott members for 15+ yrs, for both timeshare and hotel usage, so this is the standard we use for brand and benefit comparison. In this case, we’re comparing our Hampton stays to Residence/Fairfield Inns with the Marriott brand. We travel back and forth from Idaho to California several times per year, so Cedar City is a convenient stopping point during our journeys. We travel with a small dog, and Hampton Inn provides very fair pricing for our little buddy. We have lodged at this property twice over the past couple of months. The desk staff has exceeded our expectations for friendliness. We’ve been greeted with smiles both times upon entering the desk/lobby area. Check-in has been efficient and expeditious. Our rooms have been clean but very tired. Our first room had a trick toilet seat that slipped to the side, major misalignment, after taking a seat on the throne. Otherwise it was clean and appropriately comfortable. The attached photos are from our second visit. The missing fabric on the chair seemed more consistent with a Morel 6 than a Hilton branded property. The next photos are of the bathtub/shower and the sink area in the kitchen. I thought the stain in the bathtub was possibly blood - I’ve seen a lot of it in my lifetime - so I took a damp washcloth and tried to scrub the substance to ensure that it was not biological. It did not rub off, so my comfort level elevated slightly. The tub/shower is in desperate need of reglazing. The caulking in the kitchen and bathroom can also use a touch up. We love the location of the hotel, the people who work there and the availability of dining options close by. We are hopeful that Hilton assists the franchisees with making needed upgrades.
