Tropical Paradise

Overall a nice stay for one of the more budget friendly hotels on the island. Bathroom was a little dirty and the water from the shower smelt a little. Pool next to the sea is a nice addition

The hotel needs a bit of TLC,repair locks on doors to rooms and re -fix plug socket to wall. Some staff not friendly or helpful at all. We asked for a cup of ice and were told to wait until the bar opened!

This is the third time I've stayed at Tropical Paradise Hotel in 2 years and the property is under new management. If you've been there in the past do not expect the same experience. The manager is extremely lazy. On a 6-night stay I saw him do nothing but grimace at people and hover over the staff. You can say hello to the security guard to but he will not respond, extremely unfriendly. The office staff rolls her eyes, doesn’t seem to know much about how to place operates and makes assistance cumbersome. The people that do the real work around there are the housekeeping and grounds team. Hector was the saving grace of the stay. If you need anything from a towel or directions ask grounds and housekeeping. There's a one-cup coffee machine in the room but you have to buy their cups and special-sized coffee filters to use it. They have a big sargasm problem and the beach smells, omitting a poisonous gas as it decomposes. So it being located on the water with a big dock going out into the ocean is useless, unless you want to get coated in toxins. Also be advised that there’s a 2-tiered pricing structure all over the country aka the “white price.” The hotel costs $58 for regional visitors, but if you’re from North America or Europe you’re going to pay a little over $100 per night. This was the case throughout most of San Pedro & Caye Caulker - if the price isn’t published it’s because it depends on where you’re from. Be ready to haggle on everything from meals, excursions & souvenirs.1st world prices for a 3rd world experience.

My husband and I stayed at Tropical Paradise for our first visit to Caye Caulker, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place for such an incredible experience. The highlight of our stay was Henry, who books the tours—an absolute gem. He went above and beyond to get us on an amazing last-minute scuba trip, which turned out to be perfect. Henry truly made our stay extra special, offering local insight, making us feel cared for, and simply being a kind and genuine presence. We’re so grateful for the hospitality and unforgettable memories!

Unsure about all the negative comments unless this is the first"developing" country these people visited. Although I must say I was supposedly in one of their best and newer rooms. Even factoring that in I didn't experience noise, uncomfortable beds or dirty rooms at all! Staff was friendly pool was clean, ac and WiFi worked just fine and being next to a small quaint cemetery in a hotel named tropical Paradise was kind of charming. Maybe it depends on the room but again the rooms were clean, pool was clean and all the amenities worked for me . Staff were all friendly.

Nice, simple property. Only wish we had a refrigerator in the room.
