Golden Stage Inn

We really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Stage Inn. Innkeepers Julie and Mike, were warm and personable. They were very attentive to our needs and made us feel very welcomed into their attractive home. We just really like them! They have a very comfortable living area perfect for relaxing, reading, playing cards, games or just chatting with other guests. That is one of the reasons why I love the B&B experience. You can meet such interesting people along the way. Our room was on the cozy size and we were ok with that but if you need a big bedroom you might want to explore their options. The place is kept very clean! I am an early riser and one of the things I super appreciated is that they had delicious coffee available at 6am. I'd grab my cup, sit in the living room, and let my day unfold. I do have to report that wi-fi can be a little sketchy at times. And then of course there is breakfast. We had a three course breakfast that was very good. One option they offer if you are not in the mood for anything fancy, they will make an egg breakfast to your liking which I took them up on one morning. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Their location, Proctorsville, is a very small town so don't expect to see much. We used it as a base to explore other parts of Vermont within a 30 mile or so drive. And unlike most places, just driving through beautiful Vermont is like driving through a little bit of green paradise.

I discovered this wonderful Inn when looking for a last minute place near Okemo. I have now visited 2x (The Inn is maybe a 10 minute ride to the mountain). The owners Julie and Mike are the most excellent hosts. having thought of everything to make.a stay comfortable and relaxing. The rooms are nicely decorated and breakfast is EXCELLENT. The sheets on the beds are so special, like sleeping on a cloud!!! Beyond the rooms is also a cozy and inviting living room with gas fireplace. It is the perfect place to enjoy afternoon soups, hot cider and the bottomless cookie jar.... along with great tea selection! You can not go wrong staying here. Check out Murdock's on the Green down the road, recommended by the hosts. Excellent food, great service.

Very beautiful place and excellent service

Our favorite inn! Our family of 4 has been coming annually for 11 years each winter to ski at nearby Okemo. Julie and Mike are wonderful hosts. Rooms are lovely and spotless. Breakfasts are delicious and creative. Cookies and hot apple cider after skiing and if you are lucky to stay here on a Saturday- Mike’s chocolate cake. Really, the best. Highly recommended!

Love this place!! This place is wonderful! Very comfortable and clean. The owners really go the extra mile to make it a real home comfort feeling with hot cider, Cookies, and more. The main room has board games, books, and puzzles with a cozy setting around the fireplace. The Breakfast was made fresh to our liking and so good! The owners are extremely friendly and and helpful. We will be back.

B&B at it's best Julie and Mike are fantastic hosts. Wonderful breakfasts, personable, and great fun to talk to. A terrific Vermont farm house, comfy bed. All in all, a great experience.
