My wife and I availed of Sunday lunch, bed and breakfast at Kilronan Castle and Spa, Ballyfarnon, Co. Roscommon, on Sunday 27th April, 2025. When we arrived to book in the receptionist was very friendly, professional and welcoming. She allocated us a large bright, airy and spotlessly clean bedroom on the third floor. We had a panoramic view over the grounds of the castle and surrounding hills at the front of the hotel. The bed was large and very comfortable and we had an excellent night’s sleep. Despite the fact that the hotel was very busy, there was not a sound to be heard in the bedroom. The peace and tranquillity at Kilronan Castle are unrivalled in other hotels in Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo. We had Sunday lunch in the Douglas Hyde Restaurant and the quality of the food was exceptionally good. The staff were very friendly, helpful, professional and highly efficient. Sunday lunch in the Dougla Hyde Restaurant at Kilronan Castle is a most enjoyable experience, and you come away with a feel-good factor having received exceptionally good food, high quality service and excellent value for money. Breakfast at Kilronan Castle was also of a very high quality and the staff could not be more helpful, efficient and friendly. This four-star hotel is ideally located between Keadue and Ballyfarnon, Co. Roscommon. It is a twenty-minute drive from Carrick-on-Shannon and a short drive from Boyle, Co. Roscommon. As soon as you drive though the magnificent gateway at the entrance and along the meandering avenue, past the ancient forest on your right overlooking Lough Meelagh, you realise that you are heading to something special. A weekend at Kilronan Castle is an ideal opportunity to escape from the busy vicissitudes of everyday life and enjoy a unique experience on this breathtaking beautiful castle estate. The one undeniable fact about Kilronan Castle is that you get excellent value for money, first class service, excellent food and a unique experience in luxurious surroundings. Well done the to Mr. Andrew McGovern, General Manager, and his excellent staff. We will certainly return to Kilronan Castle. Tom Murphy, Maynooth.
