Kilronan Castle Hotel & Spa

Stayed 2 nights here. Very relaxing. Nice big room and bathroom. We had dinner in the Douglas Hyde Restaurant, it was a culinary delight. Our package included the use of the spa and spa treatments. Everything was excellent. Great professional therapists. We had drinks in the little bar room it was so cosy. There was a wedding on when we arrived, the venue for the wedding is so discreet and never encroaches on the other guests. We will be back .

As a frequent guest to Kilronan Castle myself and my husband decided to spend 1 night there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. There was a mix up at check in whereby, when i booked tour night away I specifically asked NOT to be put into a castle room, upon check-in we were assigned a castle room. Maria was very professional and managed to facilitate us with a room in the newer part of the hotel. My main reason for not wanting a castle room was (a) the air-conditioning was not working last time we stayed in a castle room and (b) windows do not open. We had booked the Douglas Hyde table of the host dining experience in the Doughlas Hyde restaurant and this was absolutely fabulous. Every course was just divine, we had a beautiful table at the window and our server was exceptional. We enjoyed a few drinks in the dungeon bar and again all staff excellent and great atmosphere. This review would be less than 5 stars if it had not been the quick response by the General Manager Andrew. Again the air-conditioning was not working in our room but we could open the windows. I mentioned this to him at breakfast and he immediately took our feedback onboard and went about to see what the issue was. Before we left he updated us that there was an issue specific to our room and apologized for same. Overall a very positive experience, Kilronan is a beautiful place for a get-away and the staff are exceptional. Looking forward to staying here again soon.

I booked the rooms for my husband and I as well as my 80 year old parents. The view as we approached was STUNNING and the entrance was so gorgeous! My parents were so so excited and that really was the reaction I was hoping for. The rooms were lovely and the bathroom was fabulous, especially the tub! The staff in every instance was professional, kind, and magnanimous. I'd like to specifically commend Ms. O'Rourke who was such a pleasant shining face each morning!! Always a pleasure to chat with her in the breakfast room. I hiked many of the trails around the lake and they were gorgeous. We ate at the fine dining on Saturday night and my goodness!! I've had many great meals and this was definitely one of the finest. The artistic presentation was superb and the taste of the many components was a treat to explore. Seaweed!! He made seaweed tasty!! Haha After 2 weeks touring beautiful Ireland, I asked my parents what their favorite part was... Slea Head, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, so many other amazing things we saw and did... and they immediately said Castle Kilronan. So thank you for a lovely stay and more importantly, a lovely memory for my dear parents as this might have been their last big trip. (Hopefully not!)

This castle is even more impressive than the photos. The grounds had hiking trails around the lake. We wanted to feel like we were staying in a real castle and this place delivered. The lobby and rooms had beautiful, ornate furnishings. The food was incredible and the staff was amazing.

This was our third time to visit and stay at Kilronan Castle and it did not let us down. My husband and I had the fine dining experience on both nights and it was Michelin Star quality. Attention to detail and service with a smile on both nights. Kilronan offers a very relaxed friendly atmosphere and I would highly recommend it for a break. Despite the rain and bad weather it still makes for a great vacation.

We stayed in the self catering lodges for a 4 night family trip. Such a stunning setting on the lake and great to have the gym and swimming pool available to us. Gorgeous breakfast every morning and a superb meal in the Douglas Hyde restaurant. Thanks to all the team, you made it very special

We stayed here for two nights. We were fortunate in that we received a corner room with windows on two walls. And since the air conditioning did not seem to be working we were able to open the windows wide and enjoy fresh air throughout our stay. It was quite comfortable with a walk in shower and a tub. Breakfast and dinner were fine - typical Irish breakfast and a nice selection of items for dinner. My only regret there was that the hotel did not offer any kind of laundry service which I found surprising. But all in all a good stay.

This place was amazing. Great food amazing scenery. There was a really cool pool and spa but we were there so short of a time and we’re starting to get sick from travel that we did not get to use it. The 8 course tasting menu and the nearby distillery tour were also highlights.

Staff were so accommodating in getting us a room after my reservation screw up. We were in newer wing. Large room and bathroom. Nice king bed. Suggestions: get better iron that allows steam. Internet was horrible. This really needs attention since the tv doesn’t even work. Suggest putting luggage racks in the room so don’t have to lay things all over the floor. Nearby Carrick on Shannon is cute town with lots of services and Davinos Italian.
