Great food and a location. We had a room with a terrace and we could relax with our dogs outside as it was fully enclosed with a gate on to the garden. The room was large and the food was so good we had the same 3 courses 2 nights in a row, although the amazing chef changed our dessert slightly. We loved this place and just wished we had found it sooner.

The hotel is in a fabulous setting with a fabulous view of the sea .. such a relaxing view .. the room was a little strange with kitchen units however we didn’t mind that .. there were lots of cobwebs on the windows above the patio doors and a lot of dirt in the patio doors which needs to be addressed.. apart from that the room was quite pleasant.. the evening meal was lovely we had fish and chips .. the breakfast was very disappointing not enough on the plate.. and the sound of silence was just awful it needs to have soft music playing to give the hotel a nice atmosphere.but the staff were fabulous

Room, staining on carpet and bed cover, wardrobe musty, nescafe coffee sachets no milk, for the price really ? lots of dried flowers dusty View lovely Food, frozen chips, miniscule portions, cheap breakfast ingredients, no table check. Management not onsite, staff treated abysmally by management over the phone as well as guests when a complaint was made, very unprofessional and rude ! Extremely overpriced rip off

Was a decent hotel and could be a decent hotel. However not with the present owners that can not decide whether its a burger bar or a Chinese takeaway One to avoid for now

What a let down, this is a beautiful setting and should have been a wonderful experience. It wasn't. We were welcomed by a nice lady who took payment for our stay immediately. That didn't bother us too much, however we didn't feel that rush to get our money off us was necessary. The room had a stunning view... it was rather old fashioned and the kitchen cabinet s together with empty full size fridge seemed a bit odd. No plugs near a mirror and the one by the bed was behind a wardrobe... Outside the gardens looking out to sea were very pleasant but the odd mismatched furniture was a bit off putting and made it look scruffy. The hotel dining room had 4 tables each set for 2 people. The food was very expensive and extremely disappointing. Decor old fashioned and full of horrendous ornaments and fake flowers, although spotless. At the end of the day a hotel that could be wonderful but isn't..

Excellent one night stay with family. Lovely room. Amazing views over the bay. Quiet and peaceful stay. Amazing food in the restaurant. What more could you want??? Easy parking and chargers too for those with electric cars. It’s a 3rd party charger and at time of writing costs 69p a kw. Those with electric cars will understand. You need to download the Monzo app. Would definitely stay here again. Plenty to see in the surrounding area also. Recommend Kirkcudbright and Wigtown.

We spent 2 nights and we will definitely come back. Diana and her team are very attentive and provided great customer service. The food was delicious, Diana is a great chef and pays attention to all details, most food is sourced locally and is organic. The views are fantastic. The room and bathroom were very clean. Great place to stay to wind down .
