The George Hotel

Central Location: Most reviews highlight its convenient position on Main Street, near attractions like the Cheese and Grain, and proximity to Frome’s town center.

The actual pub part of this hotel is lovely and staff friendly. Our room was extremely hot and without air con it was necessary to have the window open . This wouldn’t normally be an issue but after the bar shut the staff sat outside drinking and talking very loudly . At 12am we felt the need to make a comment. They did go in but came back out later . The bed mattress was incredibly uncomfortable - you could hear and feel the springs moving as you moved. It didn’t make for a good night sleep. The panelling in the bathroom has two panels out that need fixing. The shower pressure was extremely poor. As the room was above the kitchen we were woken by the generator (?) or extractor something similar going on around 6ish. It’s a shame as this hotel has potential especially as there aren’t many in the area.

Very tired, No privacy There was a huge party going on in the pub, a member of the party went to find someone to hep us!! Our room was a ground floor room with a full glass door, there was no cover for the door, so no privacy and as soon as the sun was up so were we!!! Terrible
