There wasn't anyone at the reception when we got there around 7 pm. They've mentioned to inform them in advance if you're checking in late, but no one answers the call. When we reached, we kept calling on the numbers displayed at the reception, but no one answered again. After 10 mins, the guard came in who called someone, and 20 mins later, the guard took us to the room and gave us the key. We were exhausted after our long journey, so we just felt grateful to get a room.
We booked a standard room for 2 nights as we were mostly out. The room was decent.
Bathroom: The sink wasn't very clean. There were cowebs in the bathroom wall. The taps are rusted. A soap, toilet roll, napkin, or dental kit were not provided. Thankfully, the commode was clean, there was hot water to shower, towels were provided & there were mirrors.
Room: The room was very small, kinda cramped. Bed was high. There was a cupboard to keep bags, a table & a chair, TV & fridge but no space to move around. Kettle & cup-saucer were provided but no spoons or coffee sachet. There were 2 bottles of water provided, which we refilled for free from the dispensor on the ground floor.
Balcony: The floor wasn't clean, but I wore my sandals and stepped out to enjoy the view.
The next morning, we wanted to speak to the receptionist and ask for a room change, but again, there wasn't anybody. The pool wasn't functional as it wasn't clean.
Overall, we were okay as we managed fine. We carried along everything we'd need. There aren't many options in Castillejos anyway.
