La Villa Del Re - Adults Only - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

This was our second summer staying at this beautiful resort. The first time, we booked a garden view suite since we weren’t sure what to expect. This time, we opted for a front ocean view suite. While it was more expensive (as expected with the view) and categorized as a suite, it actually felt smaller than the garden view room we had previously. Still, the view of the ocean and resort was absolutely spectacular — easily the highlight of the room. The bed was as comfortable as we remembered, and although there’s music coming from the restaurant in the evenings, it’s so subtle that it never disrupted our rest. That said, the rooms could use some thoughtful upgrades. A bit more storage and a second sink would make a big difference, especially considering this is a couples-oriented, adults-only property. The single-sink setup felt a bit tight for two people. One of the true highlights of each day was breakfast. The cold meats, fresh pastries, and coffee were delicious and beautifully presented. After breakfast, we always headed straight to the beach — the water is SO spectacular, and the setting is hard to beat. The beach is semi private, not lots of locals, the hotel has a special area for the guest with nice beach beds. We had dinner in both restaurants, I prefer the Grill, the only downside it is the long walk down the stairs to the bathroom in front of the beach. Bring your very comfortable shoes. In the afternoons, we typically moved to the pool, which is lovely, but unfortunately, it was often difficult to find available chairs. Many guests seemed to leave personal items out for hours, expecting the staff to hold the chairs for them. Because of that, we spent most afternoons in the lounge area instead, which was a bit disappointing. All in all, we had another wonderful stay — the setting is hard to beat, the service was warm, and the atmosphere relaxing. With a few upgrades and a bit more attention to the shared spaces, it could be truly exceptional.

My wife and I stayed 5 nights to celebrate our 35th Anniversary. The Villa was perfect. The room was beautiful with an ocean view. Service was impeccable, from check in, to pool/beach assistance, to housekeeping. Everyone was so attentive to assist with any needs. The food was outstanding. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. Dining at the pool bar, Bella Vista Grill and Le Palme were wonderful. We can not thank the entire staff enough for such an amazing vacation.

A Relaxing Escape Our stay at Villa del Rei was, in a word, wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in a calm, peaceful atmosphere, exactly what we were looking for. The staff were incredibly throughout, always friendly and eager to help, whether at the front desk or the beach bar and especially at Le Palme restaurant. I celebrated my birthday during our stay, and the team went out of their way to make it extra special, a thoughtful touch I’ll never forget. Villa del Rei delivered on every level: comfort, service, and that personal touch that turns a good stay into a great one. Five stars from us.
