Hotel Quelitales was the first accommodation of our 6 week in Costa Rica. The room was comfortable and the food good particularly the trout.We loved the location and enjoyed our walks in the area. What was disappointing was the lack of information in booking tours.This is a known birding area so organising guides for a tour should be straightforward from the hotel but we were left to do our own research and booking ourselves. We felt customer service needs to be addressed.

El lugar es espectacular, rodeado de mucha naturaleza, se pueden apreciar muchísimas aves y la comida es fabulosa. El trato de nos dieron fue muy amigable y me relajé mucho durante mi estadía. Algo que me gustó mucho, es que su propietario, Don Jose, siempre está en el hotel, garantizando en todo momento el buen servicio. Tras mi estancia, me siento un ser humano nuevo.

Tuve la oportunidad de visitar este mes de abril 2025 esta maravilla de lugar. Estuvimos aprovechando un feriado y nos quedamos para fin de semana. Nuestra cabaña fue la llamada “Mariquita”, un espectáculo de refugio con el plus de contar con una duña al natural. La catarata, los senderos que pudimos recorrer y el trino de las aves lograron que me desconectara por completo de mi rutina diaria. El restaurante es UNA DELICIA y su vista panorámica a las montañas del parque nacional Tapantí hacen que te sientas, tal cual es: dentro de la montaña. Si les gusta el avistamiento de aves este es EL LUGAR para venir a disfrutar de esta actividad. El personal sumamente amable y carismático. Sin lugar a dudas una experiencia que espero poder repetir pues me voy de acá con las baterías renovadas.

We stayed here as part of our birding tour around Costa Rica. This by far is my favourite place so far. The grounds are absolutely stunning and full of bird life. The staff are so attentive, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was proper home cooked food and full of flavour. I loved the tranquility and the beauty of this place. The forest trail is amazing, hiking and birding paradise. We were shown where the owl was nesting and taken around the hotspots by the lovely lady at reception. The waterfall is a true beauty and something to be admired. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend to everyone. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness - Rebecca & Gavin

The best! An exceptional place.
An incredibly beautiful place with gorgeous rooms, amazing birds, magnificent flora and delightful people. The restaurant was open 8 to 8 and the food was amazing.

Hôtel situé dans la montagne. Chemin caillouteux et peu facile d'accès. Lieu magnifique et le paradis des oiseaux que vous pouvez observer grâce à la nourriture que l'hôtel leur offre. Très belle cascade sur le site. Restaurant correct mais un peu cher a notre goût. Décoration des chambres très sobres et prenez vos précautions. Nous avons eu froid. Literie très confortable et petit savon offert très apprécié
