The hotel is great. The history is super cool, especially if you are familiar with Francis Drake. The courtyard is beautiful, with a nice pool there and a pool on the rooftop (which does get a little noisy because of machine whirring). The location is top notch, 5 minute walk from all the tourist sights in the Old City, but from here you can also walk to Getsemani. The area around the hotel is safe, we never felt uncomfortable or whatsoever. The staff is super nice, very attentive. The breakfast was good too in the morning, with a great view from the balcony of the street below. Also make sure you try the ‘Mojito’, or the ‘El Draque’, as it was invented by Sir Francis Drake. The only con would be that you have to pay for bottled water, and the beds are on the small side.

I could not say more wonderful things about Casa de Alba. I went with two friends for 4th of July weekend and the staff gave us an unforgettable experience! We were welcomed with coffee and a mimosa upon arrival. We then got a tour of the house while our bags were taken to our room. The staff offered very helpful recommendations for activities. Breakfast was made to order each morning. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked well. We always felt safe, day or night.

Sebastian and Christian were very helpful during our stay. Sebastian took the initiative to make sure we got to our adventure and found the pick up area for our Beach Day. Thomas gave great restaurant suggestions. The staff did an awesome job and they are the type of people that make guests want to return.
We were there celebrating a 20th anniversary and the hotel was very quaint. We felt like family during our visit in this boutique with 7 rooms. Loved reading a book on balcony overlooking pool & during breakfast on the patio across from the church & square. The rooftop was cute but we did not get to use it. We didn’t realize the history behind Casa Drake until we kept seeing the stops by different tours & people wanting to catch a peek inside.
Size of room/closet/bathroom and walkable location were both the best hidden gems! We really enjoyed Wall City! We plan to return!

En Casa Alba, lograron que viviéramos una inolvidable experiencia en nuestra escapada de fin de semana al Centro Histórico de Cartagena. En cuanto a las instalaciones cuentan con una decoración. estilo colonial con sus detalles modernos, conservando la esencia de la historia del Francis Drake 🤩 lo cual le da aún más mística al hotel, ubicado en zona céntrica, pero sin excesos de ruido, diagonal a la Catedral, bella vista desde el balcón.El personal Clase A, pendientes de cada detalle (sin excepción), personalizan la atención, lo cual no es frecuente de ver. Mi especial agradecimiento a Laura por dar la milla extra y a todo el equipo de recepción que dieron seguimiento a cada solicitud que pedimos o consultamos (José J, Paula, Carlos, Pablo). La limpieza de la habitación y baño muy limpias, excedieron las expectativas. El desayuno lo varían por día, frutas, jugos naturales, alternativas de leches, huevitos frescos al gusto, con variedad de acompañamientos, muy satisfechos! Linda estadía, muy recomendado y de seguro regresaremos! Saludos Yvonne

Amazing Property with Warm and Friendly Staff
Our stay at Casa De Alba was perfect. The property is absolutely gorgeous, located right in the center of historic old town Cartagena. The service was incredible. I can't say enough about the amazing and always friendly staff. Antonio was extremely helpful in showing us around the city, making dinner arrangements, island tour, and more. Jorge in my opinion is the best bartender in Cartagena! The food was also fabulous, and you couldn't beat the view/ambience having breakfast on the 2 floor balcony in the morning. We came with 2 children, and everyone had a great time. We look forward to coming back. Thank you to all the staff that I did not mention. Everyone was awesome! Made this last stop on our 3 city tour the perfect end to our vacation.

A gem of a hotel!
My kids and I stayed at Casa De Alba for 4 nights in early June. We found the room and hotel in line with the online description. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was super helpful and responsive. We appreciated breakfast which was filling and delicious. The front desk always gave good recommendations and booked the walking and beach tours for us. The location was also extremely convenient. Overall, an A+! We would definitely stay here again.
