Staff was very nice. We had requested a King bed, but due to renovations on all the King rooms, we got 2 queen beds, which was fine. Very quiet this time of year. A nice little getaway.

We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath cabin.It was very spacious. Our cabin was a duplex,attached to another cabin, but each cabin has its own fire-ring area so its nice & private. Saw lots of deer at dusk! Lots of birds to enjoy! Beautiful place

Aug15-18 We rented a 3 bedroom cottage for a family reunion along with the brick pavilion, 4 camping sites! The cottage floors were filthy and black, called lodge spoke to Robin who said I was the 2 nd person to complain and she would send cleaners out asap, they never came! Went to lodge next day lady gave me a card to call Matthew Sabin I called and called left voice mail, see my numerous pictures and date still no response from anyone!!! Family members left cottage and got hotel as it was so filthy and no one at General Butler State park cared about our complaints!! We were all senior citizens and 80 yrs old and very sad that no one responded to us or a week later no one has responded! We paid over 225.00 per night for this filthy dirty cottage and the management at General butler state park only wants your money and could care less about their guests! I sent pictures to Matthew Sabin showing one swipe with a paper towel and it was black ! What is wrong with the state of Ky making these people management of a park and they ignore the people who pay To support it?? I even called lodge and asked gif s mop as there wasn’t any in the cottage, I would have cleaned them my self ic there as a mop, but again Robin assured me she would send cleaners and they never came!!!

This was really a great stay! Everyone should do this once in their life! I personally get scared to any strange noise being a city chic but the cottages were so cute a spacious! Everything we needed was there if not they brought it down to us we didn’t have to go pick up anything. Signs posted saying not to walk anywhere alone not sure about that but other than the pool being down for the year an a few minor things we really wanted to do they also had a infested park so certain types of trees were dying it was sad. On positive note we will be going back..!!..

Diamond in the rough
Great diamond in the rough. Kasie was super friendly at the front desk. Can see renovations are happening. Pool was completed and very nice area. Great views and plenty of space in the cottage. Could use a few more kitchen ammenities like a frying pan bigger than 8 inches. The sheets, bathrooms, kitchen were clean. Floors were not. Left our feet black. Did enjoy exploring the grounds on the paths.
