The sanitary conditions are very good and the facilities are new. There is an additional charge for parking.

Nice hotel centrally located and looks just like website pics. Parking lot was convenient and staff was pleasant. Food service by the pool was slow some days and hotel food (including free breakfast) was basic but not bad. Super close to the airport and use of beach chairs and umbrellas was perfect. Walk to the beach was around 5-10 minutes.

Beautiful suite. I had a great view of the mountains and airport, as well as a partial water view from room 925. I took off one star because for all the amenities, the room follows the trend of shower stall-no bathtub. It's also a bit further from the beach than its competitors at this price point.

(Note: We stayed at this hotel twice in two weeks. Once on our way to the BVI and once on the way out.) Where do I start? I’ll start with the good; it’s a much shorter list. The location is fabulous if you travel through SJU because the hotel is right off the end of runway 8. The good news is that you really cannot hear the airplane noise from the inside of your room. The pool area is another matter—it's pretty noisy. Another “good” is that the restaurant you really have to eat at if you want to recoup your $40 (now $45—it went up between our visits! Now you get $40 at the restaurant and $5 for the marketplace. More on that later.) resort fee isn’t nearly as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. The first time, I avoided the chicken wings because of previous reviews and ordered the burger. It was okay—prepared as ordered. The second time, I went with the wings, and they were much better, IMO. The “free” breakfast buffet was gawd-awful too. Stick with a bagel or toast. The hot foods were pretty, pretty, pretty bad. Now for the bad. Mold. Smelly mold. Allergy-inducing mold. You'll smell it from the moment you step out of the elevator. (This was on two different floors during the two different stays.) It gets worse when you go into your room. For me, it was immediate sneezing, then itchy eyes. During the first stay, I felt festive and used an SNA certificate to upgrade my room. That was a mistake because the second stay had an ocean-view room. The first room also had an inop HVAC unit. When we arrived, the room was warm, so we pushed the buttons on the thermostat to lower the temperature. It did nothing. Turns out the circuit was turned off on the electrical panel in the room. We clicked it on and found out why it was off. It would not stop cooling. I had to dig out my Connecticut flannel jammies that night to keep from freezing! So, back to the $45 resort fee. The additional $5 is supposed to be used in the marketplace. Okay, so we checked what was there. Nothing we wanted at the prices they were charging. After dinner, the allergies (from the mold in the room) got the best of me, and I chose a $2 packet of Benadryl from the marketplace. I showed that gal at the desk, and she said “You’re good.” I hoped it meant I wouldn’t be charged, but lo and behold, there was the $2 on my final bill. I guess the $5 only applies to things you don’t need. And it’s not that $2 is a lot; it’s the fact that you need it to breathe! At least I did. One more issue: The reception staff really need to learn how to receive people. On both check-ins, despite being the only person in line, I was asked to “hold on” while they did other things. I felt as if I were intruding on their time.

Spent a week here and had a very pleasant visit. In particular the room layouts (stayed w another couple in 2 room suite 1 night and king studio 6 nights), the pool area and the friendliness of the staff were very nice. We picked this hotel partly because of the kitchens and they were great in both rooms. The couches were very comfortable, though the pull-out beds are a bit small. I've read several reviews about the mold smell and honestly barely noticed it. I've been to San Juan many times but never this close to the airport, and honestly the plane noise wasn't that bad/frequent and inside the room barely noticeable. The rooms do show a tiny bit of wear (not necessarily distracting or bad, just surprising because the hotel is so new). The pool area is lovely and because of the design / lack of tall buildings and the L shaped kiddie area, gets a lot of sun, really throughout the day. They ran out of towels a few times but did replenish them if you asked. The only wonky critique I have is the A/C system is on in each room all the time. You can control the temp but not the fan, and when it is cooling down (or warming up) the fan is annoyingly loud. This is the first time I have stayed in San Juan without a balcony/ window to open so that could be part of the problem. Sleeping was fine, though we do wear earplugs. Lastly the beaches (5-6 minute walk) are big, gorgeous, not crowded and in my opinion, nicer than Condado.

DO NOT STAY HERE. There is toxic mold growing on the walls of the rooms and the entire place smells musty (as in mold problem). Additionally the windows cannot be opened so there is no fresh air. We noticed a mold problem in one room and then requested a room change only to be changed to a room with an even worse mold problem. The mold was growing in the walls of the bathroom, on furniture. Disgusting and we were terrified for the health of us and our baby. When we brought it up to the front desk staff they didn’t even act surprised.

When we arrived at 4:30 our room was not available. It took consistent trips to the front desk to finally get a room 45 minutes later. Once we got to the room the room's temperature was 62°. After several attempts to adjust the thermostat, we realize that the thermostat was not accepting any commands. We then called down to the front desk to advise them of the issue, which they replied they would have somebody from engineering come right up. 30 minutes later we went down to the front desk and asked when engineering was going to come to the room to fix the air conditioning. Once we got to the front desk manager the engineer was going to meet us at the room. At this point the engineer commented that we would have to use "Old School" tactics. What that meant was that we had to shut off and turn on the air conditioner at the circuit breaker box. OMG.

Booked this hotel for my birthday trip and the hotel is terrible. I’m currently still at the hotel writing this review because there’s a festival going on and the hotels are full. Three words to describe this hotel: Musty, Dirty, and Bugs. Checked in Thursday and the first room AC did not work and the room smelled like mildew. They moved us to another room and the room had a faint mildew smelled and mildew in the shower. The couch and carpet haven’t been cleaned since they opened this hotel. On Friday as we were getting ready for bed, I notice small bugs all over the wall. I went downstairs to let the receptionist know and they move us to another room which also had bugs and smelled of mildew. Now we’re in our 4th room within 48 hours. Do not stay here.

We stayed 5 nights here with kids. The hotel is in a great location. Pool is great. People are wonderful but the smell in our room was horrendous. It appeared to be coming from the carpet. It left all of our bags and clothes smelling so bad. A mold and chemical mix. We tried damp rid and baking soda. Nothing helped. I wouldn’t stay again and the $40 resort fee left us feeling bitter
