Golden Sands Carolina Beach Oceanfront, Tapestry by Hilton

We were very excited for this stay but were met with a lot of issues from the beginning. The wall next to the toilet had something splattered all over it and looked yellow. Then when taking a shower we found that all three of the bath towels had black or brown stains all over them. The wall behind the trash can was splattered with something as well. We had planned to stay and just suck it up until we were getting in bed and found some little black bugs on the pillows and decided that we were no longer willing to go continue our stay. We are Hilton Gold members and are usually very satisfied with our stays, rarely ever making a complaint or voicing concern. I’ve never ever made a review for a hotel but this one was just horrific and we want to try and prevent others from making a mistake like us by booking here.

The rooms have been remodeled and look nice. But no hot water. Can’t call office to report it because phone doesn’t work in the room and NO cell signal in the room. Had to connect to WiFi to make call. Husband went to talk to rep and they would not get manager and would not refund. Basically told him to leave or deal with it. Assistant manager was extremely rude. Had to call corporate to get the issue resolved. They fixed the hot water but did not address the phone not working or lack of phone service. In an emergency you better hope WiFi works if you need to call for help. Don’t go there.

Great updates. But, the price has risen so much since it was private owned. Not sure we will go again (especially after it becomes a Hilton zproperty and prices rise again. Can rent a condo forcacweek cheaper.
