Spotless. I felt safe, my belongings were safe. Staff couldn't be more kind and helpful. Good people good environment towels Nd bedding smelt all fresh. Really couldn't fault my stay The breakfast did smell amazing although I left too early to try! Highly recommended especially for female solo traveller. Locked secure car park and shop literally across the road. Although on a main road no noise from.it or from the beer garden. Really good value for money

This is definitely a case of “don’t judge a book by its cover” All accommodation was booked out in Carnoustie because of the Seniors Open so we booked this. On arrival - we were a little apprehensive with the dated look of the public areas. However our room was very clean and well appointed. The bathroom stole the show though. Absolutely stunning with a walk in rainfall shower and free standing bath. Our stay was marred however with the burglar alarm going off at 4am and the box being right outside our room! It also woke up cockerels nearby so couldn’t get back to sleep! ♀️

Although it looks rough on first glance - the rooms were lovely and breakfast service great! Parking was a big plus and we were pleasantly surprised by this accommodation. Would recommend for 1 or 2 nights. It is a a 10 minute drive to Dundee but fine if you have a car.

I stayed at the hotel as a golfer and appreciated the proximity to the golf, the size of my room, free Wi-Fi, free parking and friendly staff. The fish & chips bar meal was outstanding- fresh local fish. My room was warm quiet and very comfortable. It isn’t easy to run a small local hotel in the current economy but this is excellent value.

Small but charming hotel with narrow corridors and lots of golf pictures. Very helpful and friendly owner. Clean rooms, good food. Pub downstairs pretty loud with a live band but we thought it was nice with some music and people being drawn here.

The building may be old but the room and bathroom was spotless and spacious.toiletries, coffee, Iron, hair drier all supplied in the room.Breakfast first class.Owners and staff could not have been more friendly.The bar was very lively and again very very friendly,Bus stop just outside the door

Great overnight stay. Room 2 very spacious, clean and well equipped. It even had a fridge. Very warm welcome from owners and team. Option for small or large breakfast. Great quality and value. Thanks for your hospitality.

Having read reviews on *********** we were looking forward to a lovely meal - arrived to a notice saying the kitchen was closed - and had been since 4th June. There was no mention of this online. We were early, met with a look of utter disdain from the barmaid, who then fetched the manager. He kindly allowed us to drop our bags off in the room. We were offered the room nearest the sea - I can only assume it was near as we couldn't see it. Tried to put the handtowel on the towel rail and it promptly fell off the wall which is clearly a regular occurance. While the room and bathroom were clean and the bed exceptionally comfortable, the radiator in the Bathroom was pretty filthy and needed a good clean. The remote control for the television was held together with an elastic band, and we gave up on it actually working after 10 mins of effort. The bath had a shower attachment , rather than a shower (which the owner did explain in advance), but despite our best efforts neither of us could get the shower attachment to work! Previous reviews indicated works were being carried out to the hotel but it looked like only the door to the bathroom had been replaced. Lastly, the curtains didn't actually cover the windows! Have been in worse but have certainly been in better, sadly we wouldn't go back.
