We loved our stay here. I had Los Lobos and my friend stayed in Stillwater. The rooms are lovely--love the heated floor in bathroom. Stillwater would be a bit tight for 2, but not really hanging out in room much. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood a block from the beach. Although I could hear the waves standing on my lovely balcony, not really all night. The public areas are wonderful---lots of fire pits and places to sit and relax. The staff is thoughtful, kind and helpful. Really a perfect place to stay in Carmel!

My wife and I just spent a wonderful weekend at Villa Mara Carmel. When we arrived we were immediately met with an arrival drink and took care of everything from there. The facility is absolutely perfect for a small Inn. From outside seating to the cozy room, we felt so comfortable and relaxed the whole time. The food and beverage were perfect. We had an amazing breakfast (don’t miss the pastries) and each evening enjoyed a nice cocktail and bites around the fire pit. The service was also so special. The team was so helpful but also not intrusive which is sometimes hard to get right but they did. Finally, we loved the little surprises like the cake in the evening and cookies in the room. Those little touches all added to a great stay.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a 2-night stay at Villa Mara and honestly, it wasn't enough. We loved everything about Villa Mara. It's picture-perfect, the staff and the hospitality are amazing and the accommodations are the perfect combo of luxury and comfort. There are so many special touches that make your stay amazing...the complimentary mini bar, lovely turn down service, yummy (and filling breakfast), nightly cake(!). There are always fires lit, cozy nooks to sit and chat, read, or enjoy a cocktail, and the staff are always happy to make suggestions or help with planning. Oh--and the location is great...close to the beach and a short walk to town. We can't wait to return!

We stayed at Villa Mara for three nights, in early July, as part of a California road trip from the UK. The quality of accommodation, breakfast, and service here is truly stunning. Honestly, the images on their website don’t fully do it justice. Our room was Lobos, with a sea view and balcony. Room is super comfortable. Breakfast is very hearty, a good start to the day. You are very near the beach and I’d recommend a walk along there is a beautiful quiet beach if you all to the left on the seafront, the beach toward the town is more crowded but still excellent! You are about a mile walk from central Carmel which is great, you can view some of the stunning properties or if not, an Uber is a cheap/quick alternative. Yes, it’s expensive, but wow what a place!

We stayed at Villa Mara for my wife’s birthday. This place is wonderful and the staff are phenomenal. They cater to your every need and are incredibly knowledgeable of everything going on in the area. They have a nice breakfast in the AM (pastries and quiche) and they have a simple all day menu (the charcuterie board is phenomenal). They also have a nice bar and multiple outside seating areas with fire pits by each. They are one block from the beach and 3/4’s of a mile from all of the restaurants and shopping. I would highly recommend Villa Mara.

We came for a 3 night stay in mid-June and had such an incredible experience that we ended up staying an extra night. The location is amazing. You're just off the beach in Carmel and about a mile from the Carmel gate entrance to 17 mile drive. Just as amazing, if not more so, is the staff. Every member of the staff that we interacted with is friendly and engaging. We were addressed by name throughout our stay. Recommendations were provided for dining and we discussed our feedback on those recommendations. The common area is also conducive to interaction with other guests. We had conversations daily with other guests and shared experiences with things to do and places to eat as well. The hotel is clean and the decor is warm and inviting. We will definitely return and I highly recommend Villa Mara if you're headed to the Carmel area.

Best hotel experience I've had in Carmel by leaps and bounds. Will definitely return. From the warm, personalized check-in, the lovely accommodations (love the Toto bidet and heated floors) and the location -- a quick stroll along the sea to the Carmel shops -- my experience was a dream. It meant the world that my small dogs could join. We'll be back next time with my husband too. :)

We stayed here for the second time for our anniversary and loved it. We had the room Stillwater which had a private deck with full view of the entire Carmel Bay. All the details and little touches were so nice that you feel like you're staying in total luxury but at the same time the atmosphere is totally relaxed and has the feeling as though you're staying at someone's home. We can't wait to back.
