Full of American country style
This is a 95-year-old house that has been renovated
All the furniture is full of age
It feels like living in a loft when I was a kid
Breakfast is also a lot of homemade stuff
But this expensive B&B doesn't have air conditioning!!!

Great location for Carmel by the sea getaway. Delightful intimate center courtyard capturing a French boutique hotel. Our first floor room overlooked the courtyard which we enjoyed however can be noisy as outdoor breakfast set up starts at 8:00 AM. There is a limited breakfast menu included with the room during our two night stay with option to dine in room or outside. The breakfasts were delicious, we especially enjoyed the blueberry compote. One morning the bacon was burned and they graciously brought more bacon. Hotel offers cosy bar area with fireplace creating nice ambiance for after dinner drink. We dined at Aubergine which was a culinary adventure and highlight of our stay. Overall staff was courteous. Monica at the front desk was welcoming and responsive to any requests.

Expected more
There was a long narrow flight of stairs to my nicely furnished room.
My complaint is with the vanity area of the bathroom. It made it very difficult to get ready. A 5 star hotel with the cheapest hairdryer they could find? It was a $12.99 Conair (I checked Conair’s website). Besides that, it was hard to put makeup on as the lighting was dim and you couldn’t get close to the mirror. I’d suggest putting up a magnified, lighted swing arm mirror and invest in a better quality hairdryer.
