This is a fairly basic hotel with a steep, winding staircase and rather cramped rooms, but the beds were comfortable and we slept well. The location right in the centre of town with its own car park is ideal. The restaurant is good and so is the bar with a good choice of beer. Unfortunately the staff's careless attitude lets the place down. There were two good ones, the barman and one of the waitresses, who genuinely made an effort, but the rest behaved as though they couldn't care less and having to serve the guests was really a drag. We may look elsewhere when we next stay in Carmarthen.
