Beach Terrace Inn is great! Wonderful location and staff is fantastic. The complimentary breakfast was AMAZING! The pool was small but perfect for us, and loved that it was heated. The beach access was fantastic too and the Inn provided boogie boards and lots of sand toys which our kids (2 seven yr olds and a 4 yr old) loved. The proximity to the Carlsbad Village was awesome, very walkable. Only complaint was our room was a bit hot and the AC constantly ran, but we had a partial view of the ocean and our balony had a sofa, so we enjoyed morning coffee & eats there. All-in-all, a wonderful stay! We will be back!

You walk past the pool to reach the hotel's back exit, then climb down four steps, and you are on the beach where you are greeted by a friendly host who provides chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and towels, and is happy to answer any questions you may have. On your way back to your room, you pass two hot showers that do a lovely job of washing off sand and salt water, so they remain outdoors instead of traveling back with you to your room.

We’ve stayed here a few times and they’ve never disappointed us. Great staff. Wonderful rooms. Relaxing pool and beautiful ocean views. Sleeping to the sound of the waves is just plain good for the soul. I highly recommend the wonderful gem.
