Days Inn by Wyndham Carlsbad

Hotel was good, great price for the room. Staff was friendly and they have hot breakfast in the mornings. Room was clean. The only complaint was the stairways climbing up and down with luggage is NO fun. Plus there were a lot of cigarette butts on the stairs from smokers in non smoking rooms.

A completely awful experience. First, the rooms were filthy and in disrepair. Broken door moldings, and dirty bathrooms. The breakfast was not fit for human consumption. But the BIG thing was, they were supposed to give us 2 nonsmoking rooms. Well, one had clearly been smoked in, so I took that one and gave my wife and daughter the other one. But by morning, my wife's room was filled with fire ants and other bugs. They got into the bed, their towels, and all into their suitcases. Why, you ask? Because the hotel staff and management kept garbage cans and trash bags filled with food was (pizza boxes, fast food bags, rotten food from the breakfast) simply piled up near a garbage can near the rooms. (See photos.) We didn't see the trash when we checked in at night, but by morning the trash with all the insects making a straight line to the rooms were right there. Told management. After a trip to the caverns we came back 5 hours later. Nothing moved or cleaned up. This place is a dump.

This hotel is undergoing a renovation. From the outside, I was skeptical. But when we entered our room #219, I said “wow”. The room was large with two queen beds. Everything in it was brand new including the beds and linens. Tastefully decorated. Loved our stay.

This hotel is filthy and disgusting. There was mold in the fridge, the exterior had trash and debris strewn about, the carpet was so gross I wouldn’t take my shoes off. To top it off, the pool was closed which was the only reason I booked a stay here. WAY over priced.

The property was undergoing what appeared to be extensive upgrades that I wasn't aware of. Pallets of supplies everywhere, the noise of construction very early in the morning. Floors in the room were dirty, the fixtures in the bathroom vanity and tub area were unfinished, cracked and missing caulk. The breakfast was a bit disappointing.

Stains in the floor , very noisy, pillows are terrible the cotton is separated and lumpy , the pool was packed and very loud , didn’t use
