After a 7 hour drive we checked in for our midway stay to Inverness. Me, husband and 78 year old Mum with mobility issues. When we made the booking in September we asked for a walk in shower on the Ground floor. I received an email saying that was fine, and the superior king room for me and husband was on first floor. When we got there, we were told my mums double was on the first floor. Up 2 lots of stairs. They had no other room, even though the lady on reception checked for any other rooms. So we gave our room to my mum as she had less stairs to contend with, and we took a very tired room with a dated bathroom that came with the added extra of mouldy grouting and missing tile. There IS a lift in the building, but we were told it hadn't worked for over a year!! Pretty poor really. To add to these problems, the restaurant was closed because the chef had 'gone home'! This was at 7.30. Advertised as being open until 9pm. The only 2 positives I have are 2 of the staff we encountered. Natalia on reception. She tried everything she could to help us, and the lady in the restaurant at breakfast time. Very friendly. Breakfast was good. Other than that, I would avoid at all costs and stick to a Premier Inn next time
