We have just returned from 2 nights in Evelyn and loved every minute. We were greeted on arrival by Steve who is friendly and really helpful. We arrived at the end of 2 days of frost so all pipes were frozen, Steve ensured we had water for our stay and that the hot tub was working and warm. The Gypsy Caravan is very cosy and warms up quickly with the log burning fire. It's right on the river bank and feels very private. The village is 5 minutes drive away with a well stocked shop and 2 lovely pubs. One of the best Glamping Sites we've been to, the set up is fantastic with your own kitchen area, shower, toilet and hot tub. We will definitely be back with the rest of the family.

This was our second time staying at Drybeck Farm this year, this time we opted for the gypsy caravan 'Evelyn' and what an amazing experience it was! We first came here camping for 3 nights over the Early May Bank Holiday and had a lovely time. The caravan is perfectly located right next to the River Eden and is quite enclosed so you get plenty of privacy which was perfect for us. It's a very quiet campsite, the owner Stephen is really great and sorted us with some wood logs to make a campfire. The caravan is clean, well insulated for warmth and the beds are very comfy to sleep on. There is a single bed at the bottom and a double at the top with a small ladder to get up, and a small bench on the side. There are 2 plug sockets inside and a small lamp to plug it in and to charge your phone etc. The toilet is a compost loo and the shower has hot water and decent enough pressure to get the job done. The outdoor kitchen area is well equipped with running cold tap water, a 2 ring gas hob and a mini oven that you can use. There is also a firefit and a hot tub which we didn't use this time but we're going back next month and we'll definitely be using it then! Beautiful quiet place, just over a mile walk from the nearest village where you can find a well stocked village shop and a couple of nice pubs as well, with plenty of walks nearby and lovely views and scenery. Access to the river for swimming/kayaking/paddleboarding. Close to The Lakes but still away from all the crowded touristy places. What an absolute gem!

We stayed in the Gypsy Caravan Evelyn which was cosy, quaint, quirky and comfortable and in, what we consier, the best location on the site overlooking the river Eden. The owners were very helpful and friendly. You have all that you need - a well equipped kitchen area and shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are all provided in the shower. It’s about a half an hour walk to the village along a quiet road with amazing views. There are two great pubs in the village serving good food, and a little store stocking everything you could need. Drybeck sometimes hosts ‘band in the barn’ events which we experienced and really enjoyed last time we came. I would highly recommend this site for anyone requiring a little r and r in a very tranquil ‘back to nature’ setting.

We stayed in Evelyn caravan for 4 nights. The place is so serene and peaceful. Its a beautiful setting. Compost toilet was ok 👍. I was worried in the beginning about using it but it was fine and didn't smell too much. Shower was good although it kept going boiling hot and cold at times it was usable. Kitchenette was good with plates, cups, cutlery etc. The oven needs either replacing or giving a good clean as it was filthy as shown in my photo. The little fridge was good to keep food in. Maybe a high up food cupboard would be ideal to keep out unwanted visitors like mice. They have a bedroom cupboard and plastic box but we didn't like using them . Hot tub was lovely. You heat it up using firewood which was provided by the owner for the first night. It was so relaxing sitting in the tub whilst listening to the owls and other wildlife. The paving flags outside Kitchenette and hot tub area need replacing as they are all cracked, minor I know but little touches make the difference and someone could trip on them. Evelyn caravan is lovely and quaint. It has a little log burner inside and wood for the first night. It's shaky when you turn over in bed or walk around. One thing I will say is bring fly spray in the summer as we left the door open while outside and loads of flysheet came in. Night time they were all buzzing round my head and ears. It drove me mad. The caravan could be a little claustrophobic as you sleep high up. I banged my head quite a few times and so did my partner. Bring a torch for going out to use the loo in the night. It was pitch black. The nearest village is about a 30 minute walk or a 5 to 10 minute drive where there is a lovely pub called the Fox and Pheasant. The meals were amazing. The host of Drybeck was very helpful. I'd return but stay in one of the bigger accommodation next time as Evelyn was just too cramped. Lovely place though.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in the 'Wigloo' as a little child free escape. The location is beautiful, each of the pods are well laid out so we really felt like we had our own space. The hot tub was lovely (even in the rain on our second night!), as other reviewers have mentioned it's worth getting that heating up early so it's ready when you want to get in, we found it really held it's heat too so we only had to get out to fill our drinks! The kitchen area was well stocked with all the things you'd need for making meals and also provided really good shelter sitting there in the lovely July rain we had 😅 The village is a 30 minute walk away but has a couple of pubs which serve food as well as a really good shop for anything you've forgotten to pack. Overall we loved our stay, the location, amenities on site and attention to detail from the owners are all fabulous. Hopefully our next visit will be in better weather!

If you want a break from life this is the ideal location. Beautiful surroundings, lovely hosts and excellent facilities. This was our third visit to Drybeck and we love it. Everything you would need in a cosy, homely space. We will be back next year and aim to stay in every property they have 😀

My husband and I have just returned from 2 nights stay in Evelyn the Gypsy caravan and it was lovely. We were very lucky with the weather but it was such a lovely position on the banks of the river Eden. Everything was there you needed. The caravan although small was perfectly fine for 2 people and the kitchen had everything you expect. One tip would be to heat up the hot tub straight away as it takes 2-3 hours first time, after that it keeps warm. The village nearby is about 30minutes walk away and has 2 pubs that do food and a shop. The Fox and Pheasant was the nicest in my opinion. Only met the owner once but he was very helpful.

After arriving in the pouring rain we were concerned about being so close to the river but once we were shown to our accommodation we had no worries. We were staying in Evelyn, a stunning gypsy caravan with a comfy bed and more blankets than you would need. That coupled with the well equipped kitchen and sitting area it is a real home from home. Despite the weather we were sheltered enough to sit out until late wrapped up drinking wine and listening to the river. Sadly we had to cut our visit short but will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all. If we had one minor complaint is that the parking area could be more all weather as it was difficult to get out after the very wet conditions

We spent 2 nights here an absolutely loved it. We stayed in the wigloo, which was really cosy with the fire. The bed, pillows and duvet are amazingly comfortable! So cosy and comfortable it was difficult to climb out of them. Everything was perfect from the hot tub to the compost loo. Steve and co were fabulous hosts! Thank you. I would highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future!
