This was our second time staying at Drybeck Farm this year, this time we opted for the gypsy caravan 'Evelyn' and what an amazing experience it was! We first came here camping for 3 nights over the Early May Bank Holiday and had a lovely time. The caravan is perfectly located right next to the River Eden and is quite enclosed so you get plenty of privacy which was perfect for us. It's a very quiet campsite, the owner Stephen is really great and sorted us with some wood logs to make a campfire. The caravan is clean, well insulated for warmth and the beds are very comfy to sleep on. There is a single bed at the bottom and a double at the top with a small ladder to get up, and a small bench on the side. There are 2 plug sockets inside and a small lamp to plug it in and to charge your phone etc. The toilet is a compost loo and the shower has hot water and decent enough pressure to get the job done. The outdoor kitchen area is well equipped with running cold tap water, a 2 ring gas hob and a mini oven that you can use. There is also a firefit and a hot tub which we didn't use this time but we're going back next month and we'll definitely be using it then! Beautiful quiet place, just over a mile walk from the nearest village where you can find a well stocked village shop and a couple of nice pubs as well, with plenty of walks nearby and lovely views and scenery. Access to the river for swimming/kayaking/paddleboarding. Close to The Lakes but still away from all the crowded touristy places. What an absolute gem!
