The hotel I was originally booked in had a flood so at the last minute I had to find another one, I found Arkale lodge and it didn’t disappoint, the rooms are pretty basic, but extremely clean which in my book is more important than a fancy room. And certainly good enough for the price I paid, the gentleman that showed me around was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was from 7 which was perfect for my continuation of my Hadrians wall walk.
The Breakfast was included in the room price and was exceptional (full English, which I easily adapted as a non meat eater)
It was plentiful, delicious and freshly made. And a great start to my long tiring day

Amazing find lovely clean and comfortable with a wonderful welcome from owners Nothing was to much for them with help with parking . Our room was on the first floor I walk with a stick but can manage stairs .I was offered a change in room to a ground floor one but we were happy with the one we had I asked if I could have a chair which was brought up straight away (a lovely comfortable one) The breckfast was amazing everything you need to start you day again served with such a happy atmosphere Can't wait to back and will highly recommend a stay .

Had an enjoyable one night stay with a group of friends. Rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good with lots of choice. It felt like the host and his staff were really making an effort to be hospitable. It was excellent value for money and I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Ishwar and staff very helpful from making reservation and extended a warm welcome on arrival at Arkle Lodge.. Accommodation comfortable and good menu and choice for Breakfast. Recommend Arkle Lodge and would be happy to stay another time. Great base for walking Hadrians Wall from Bowness on Solway to Carlisle. Many thanks Ishwar and Team.

A great place to spend a few nights. Charming hosts who are always ready to help. Excellent breakfasts, clean rooms. Just a stone's throw from the city center. In short, just perfect if you want to stay in Carlisle for a few days or more.......

What a fantastic place run by a young couple who are always on hand to offer great hospitality. The place is clean and cosy. Breakfast is always freshly made and serve according to your desire. It's very close to the town as well as other amenities. An ideal place to stay for few days if you are here to explore The Beautiful Lake District. They made fresh breakfast every morning for us and also offered us freshly made lunch if we wanted for our hike. We will definitely stay in this place next time we in Carlisle

Greeted by the owner as we stepped through the front door, shown straight to our room which was immaculately clean then showed me were to park my car.
Overall he was extremely helpful told us of a restaurant to go for an evening meal which turned out to be very good, breakfast was excellent.
If I am passing that way again then I would definitely return.
