The Fleece at Ruleholme

Amazing calm atmosphere and spotless. Food so far Sunday lunch absolutely beautiful and the service has been second to none since I arrived. As arriving solo it was good to see that you need ur room card to access the accomodation. My room was spotless and so cosy and there is everything you need . As they don't offer meals on Sunday evening I ordered a meat platter for later in the lounge area, you don't have to arrange it for certain time you just need to let the bar know when you want it, so no time limits really. Staff are really welcoming and friendly!

We have passed this Wonderful hotel on numerous occasions when returning home to the North east, however this time we decided to plan our journey in advance so we could stop over, on arrival we were checked in by a delightful lady at reception with an Australian accent (I think she may have been called Sam) who was very helpful and informative, on receiving our key it was off to our room (16 Wensleydale) to start our stay, the room was absolutely amazing, it was warm and cosy and decorated to a very high standard, the attention to detail was very evident, everything you could possibly need for a stay had been catered for, the bathroom was spacious and very well presented with complimentary Rituals bath/shower goodies for your stay (or if you choose you can take them home), the towels were big and fluffy, just what you need for these Autumn days/evenings, our stay package also allowed us to have breakfast & evening meals which were both outstanding, the Feather-blade of Beef & the Grilled Hake were the standouts, though I have to say that all of the food was delicious, The breakfast was also outstanding and the atmosphere was so relaxing, The staff were so delightful and always willing to help, next time we are over the North West we will definitely be stopping at this hotel for Bed/Breakfast/Evening meal as it is great value and the Hotel is Outstanding. Thank you to all the staff for your dedication on this wonderful stay.

A very well appointed hotel, with excellent food and extremely helpful and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you. The rooms are fitted out to a high standard and the dining room has a great menu and an excellent ambiance. Highly recommended and we have rebooked already.

We had planned to stay overnight on Sunday September 29th on our way from Bristol to the ferry at Cairnryan as the hotel is just off the M6. This would have been our 5th time staying there When we tried to book a table for dinner in the evening we realized the hotel doesn’t provide hot food for its guests after 4pm on a Sunday When I messaged the hotel to cancel my booking because they had no catering I was to to read the email I was sent 2 days prior to arrival that states a the bottom they don’t provide food for there guests on Sunday evenings My expectation was that the hotel can provide dinner each evening for its guests but sadly that’s not the case We stayed in a different hotel close by that did serve food for its guests & the Fleece can keep the money we won’t be back. It’s not a hotel if it doesn’t serve dinner each evening for it’s guests

Nell and Nigel Ballagh have asked me to write this review for them. They thank all the staff for making their recent stay so special. They really had a superb holiday . The breakfast was wonderful and staff both at breakfast and dinner both so attentive and could not do enough for them .

My partner and I stayed in room 15 from 19th till 21st September, bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Huge bathroom with multiple jet shower and deep bathtub, fluffy white towels, bathrobe and slippers provided. Lovely touch to see complimentary beer and gin in the room. The hotel decor is stunning and very tastefully done. Had breakfast both days,great choice and quality ingredients. Lunch and dinner on Friday was also superb. Staff are so friendly and can't do enough to make your stay special. The hotel, room and exterior are spotlessly clean. Can't think of any negatives, truly a wonderful stay and will definitely return

Myself and my husband had a beautiful meal in the Bridge Restaurant tonight . A culinary delight for every course. The château briand was cooked perfectly to our request and served by a lovely attentive team of staff. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend a visit .

What an amazing place to stay, we were travelling to Edinburgh and stopped on the way. Not far from the M6 so very convenient, the welcome was friendly and efficient, the hotel is immaculate in every way. Spacious and very comfortable rooms, large well fitted bathrooms. Food and staff were excellent , the food was great value. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Just spent the night at this hotel, the staff were very friendly and tentative, the food was amazing, the hotel is stunning and the rooms are very well decorated and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Had a lovely stay and will be back at some point.
