Average Easter Sunday lunch, fatty meat which is easily cut off but mash was stodgy, heavy and glue like, roasted potatoes hard but not crispy somehow. Remaining veg pretty good. Starters largely tasteless. Dessert was pretty good. Not as good as it’s been, the extra little bits were missing, not a bad price for the meal so not really sure what I was expecting. Live singer was very good.

Amazing food and really good service can’t wait to go back. Lots of gluten free options and a great new menu. Staff were really attentive and helpful, perfect meeting point for a lunch or a dinner - thank you for looking after us all we will be back

We had our wedding in March 2025 at The Fleece and it couldn't have been more perfect. From the planning stage to checking out the morning after the wedding, everything went as organised thanks to the wonderful team there who are so attentive and ensure you have everything you need. The bedrooms are as beautiful as all the photos show, from the comfy bed to the copper bath and shower you won't want to step out of. All of our guests who stayed complimented the rooms. It seems every part of The Fleece is photographic, the main reception area lends itself to some gorgeous warm photos. The food is excellent, we would recommend the restaurant highly. The wedding breakfast was amazing with a great variety offered as part of the wedding package. The bar is stocked with everything you would expect so no need to worry there either. Choosing a venue for a wedding is a tough task but we can't recommend The Fleece enough.

It is so lovely to see the Fleece back open, to an even greater standard, if that was possible! The building has always been stunning but the food, staff and service, outstanding, even better. It isn't often that I write reviews but for the Fleece it is so worth it, what the new owners have done is very special indeed.

Spent a lovely night at The Fleece in Ruleholme on Sat 26th April 2025. The bedroom was luxurious and exceptionably clean and warm. Our evening meal was also excellent as was the breakfast. Well worth the wait for the Fleece re-opening. Staff professional , kind and nothing is too much bother for them would highly recommend as it is a beautiful hotel with tranquil surroundings.

A lovely hotel not far from the M6 (on road to the A69). Beautiful construction in wood and stone. Bright, airy and very well appointed rooms with superb bathrooms. Good food (we were there for a group dinner) and wine list (good choice of wines by the glass). Good breakfast.

About 25 of us went for a weekend soon after the hotel reopened. A lovely, well-appointed building, ideal for our stay. Great rooms (named after herds of sheep!), efficient WiFi and hospitable staff. We had a private dining room for dinner on our first night, superbly served and presented. Overall, a great weekend.
