This is a lovely inn right in the heart of Carlisle. The rooms are charming and welcoming, and the people who work here are personable and kind. The breakfast is delicious—warm quiche, fresh quick bread, scones, fresh fruit and a variety of juices each morning. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the rooms are very quiet. There were many people staying here when we checked in, but I didn’t hear them in the Hayes room where we stayed. I love the historic touches—such as a cross section of the original wall and a plaque explaining how the wall of the inn was made. Also, the inn sells fragrant soaps and lotions in the foyer and it creates a delightful and welcoming scent as soon as you walk in but it’s not overpowering. There is ample off street parking behind the building as well. We visited during a heat wave—days of 100 degrees—and our room stayed nice and cool. This is an oasis of the past with the amenities of the present. I will definitely be staying here again.

My wife andI stayed here for a weekend reunion at Dickinson College. She has reviewed the B&B but wasn't able to update her review in light of recent developments. I left an item of great personal value and expense on Sunday. When we called and texted the owner, we were told it couldn't be found. They looked again on Monday with no success. On Thursday afternoon, they called and said it had been found and would be mailed. Above and beyoond in service. We are very grateful to the staff for continuing to search. Thanks!

We are graduates of Dickinson College and have stayed at the Carlisle house four times over the years as we return for reunions. The ownership has changed since our last visit and we were rather disappointed this time. We have aged, and the accommodations are not friendly for senior citizens. The tub/shower combination in the bedroom is difficult to use, as the sides of the tub are very high. For rooms above the first floor, the stairs also present a challenge. The breakfast was minimal: fresh fruit, juice, two quiches of mediocre quality and various breakfast breads. Overall, it seemed significantly overpriced for the value received.

We had a short but pleasant stay at Carlisle House. The room was large and clean, and the B&B itself is a short walk to downtown. You have to access the building through the backdoor, which was a little awkward. However, the breakfast was EXCELLENT -- possibly the best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B. If I ever go back to Carlisle, I would stay here again just for the breakfast.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Carlisle House. Molly's Garden was exceptional. It is roomy, yet cozy. Wonderful breakfast with warm quiche, pastries, and fresh fruit. Off street private parking is a definite plus!! Hostess was extremely kind and welcoming.

My friends and I are in love with the Carlisle House! Chloe and Kathy care so much about the guests -making sure we had what we needed every day- and the breakfast was delicious (Chloe’s oatmeal is outstanding). Loved our rooms! Highly recommend!

We loved our stay in the Hayes Suite, which was brightly painted yellow and tastefully decorated. My daughter was happy to have her own room. We also appreciated the common room, in which my husband did some work and we were able to access some kitchen items. We all enjoyed the delicious breakfast, friendly staff, and convenient location right downtown. We very much enjoyed out stay!
