Where do I even begin? Our wedding at The Grand Hotel was nothing short of perfect. As a wedding coordinator myself, I have seen it all – and I truly wouldn't have changed a single thing about our day. Every detail was flawlessly executed, and the entire experience exceeded all expectations. Steve Moodie – there are no words. He was our calm, our cheerleader, our extra set of hands (literally helped my son get dressed before the ceremony), and somehow always one step ahead of every moment. He even had a drink waiting for us the second we said "I do." That’s the kind of care and thoughtfulness you can’t teach – it’s just who he is. His team was equally phenomenal. Warm, professional, genuinely kind – they treated us and our guests like royalty from start to finish. And the food? Truly exceptional. People are still raving about it. Everything was A+ and more. I will remember this day for the rest of my life – and it’s all thanks to Steve and his incredible staff. If you're even thinking about The Grand Hotel for your event, stop thinking and book it. You won't regret it.

We booked the wedding suite for the night of our wedding (which we had elsewhere). The staff was so accommodating and went out of their way to make this a special evening for us. The room was wonderfully clean, with all the amenities expected. I would highly recommend this hotel for a special night.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very nice and comfortable. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open but it gave us a great opportunity to explore the town and have a delicious dinner by the water.

Everything from the old books in the side table to the furnishings along the hallways takes one back to a simpler time and it was glorious! Right from check-in, where the front desk clerk was an encyclopedia of the town, through to check-out, the experience was absolutely lovely. The bed was ever so comfortable! The location was terrific and allowed walking access to the fabulous German bakery across the road and a host of lovely shops and restaurants. The only thing that could have made it better was being able to have breakfast in the hotel.

Disappointed with the stay, especially for the price. We booked very last minute and ended up paying $260 per night, which felt extremely steep considering the regular rate on other weekends is $180. Despite the hotel being mostly empty, likely due to a wedding the next day, there was no effort to upgrade our room even. Instead, it felt like we were intruding on someone else’s event. It was very uncomfortable to walk in to a hotel being surrounded by a wedding welcoming guests. The room was small, with no restaurant/breakfast offering, bar, or lounge area on-site, and the view was of a parking lot with a cracked window—not a relaxing setting. The shower took 15 minutes to get hot. For a property with so few guests if any others, we felt taken advantage of by the pricing and underwhelming accommodations. We would appreciate a conversation with the owner in this experience. We felt gauged for the price we paid and no discount. That said, the gentleman at the front desk was friendly and gave great local recommendations, which we appreciated. Thank you for your attempt to smooth our disappointment. The local Businesses were lovely to visit.

Charming hotel with lots of historic appeal and victorian atmosphere. This place is very popular with weddings and romantic movie crews, and rightfully so. The ball room, bar and dining room are really special and would be fantastic for hanging out all day - if you could. But they are basically closed to the public, as it’s all just for event use only. No more sipping a cocktail at the bar, or even outside. The rooms are cosy and comfortable, but in need of a modern overhaul. Shower is leaking, can’t open a window, awkward TV arrangement and other details made us feel that staying more than a night would just not be worth it. The overall experience was still nice, staff is very friendly and it’s located right ‘downtown’, but when you can’t fully enjoy the romance ( e.g. having a glass of wine or breakfast, and the rooms need repair etc), we felt there’s some value missing for the money.

We had our wedding at The Grand Hotel and it was absolutely beautiful! We stayed 2 nights in the bridal suite and it was incredible. The service was amazing and we absolutely loved working with the Deb and Steve, they really went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was perfect.

Highly recommended to stay
It’s a nice heritage hotel. AC was not working, they provided fan but we couldn’t sleep at night. Staff and owner was very polite and supportive. Overall, hotel is good however there are room to improve cleanliness.
