We happened on The Old Iron Inn on our trip to Caribou. What a wonderful experience! Kate and Kevin are the most gracious hosts. Kate serves the most amazing breakfast while Kevin regales us with interesting stories about the history of the area as well as his collection of “old irons!” Since I had lived in Caribou as a child but hadn’t been back in 60 years, Kevin gave us a tour of the town in his Jeepster! We will definitely stay here every time we visit and highly recommend you check them out! Kate is called the Muffin Queen for good reason!

We had a wonderful stay at Kate and Kevin's Old Iron Inn. The rooms were beautiful, very well furnished, tastefully decorated, and sparkling clean. The beds were as comfortable as home. A corner nook was set up with lots of snacks, coffee, and even a container with extra phone chargers just in case. From the moment we got there, we felt welcomed. Kevin met us at our car to help carry in bags, and immediately invited us to sit in on a Celtic jam they were hosting that evening in their living room (excellent music & we regret we didn't have more time to enjoy it). Kate made us a wonderful to-order breakfast, complete with fresh muffins to snack on as a starter. We had some great conversation over breakfast with Kevin, on subjects that ranged from his iron collection to books to aviation history. He showed us some of his unique irons, took us on a tour of his bookshelves, and before we left even gifted us with a book! This place is a gem in northern Maine. Not to be missed if you can help it.

Truly an experience that surpasses most Bed and Breakfast stays. Graciously appointed throughout the Inn for your comfort but also a museum-like experience around the owner's extensive collection of vintage SAD irons and related items. Comfortable, cozy bedrooms with so many extras included. Excellent home cooked breakfasts that always includes Kate's scrumptious muffins. Have stayed several times. Always a treat with Kate & Kevin.

After living here and not knowing this property and its uniques collection of irons exist, it’s awesome to know it does. Very nice and Kevin was amazing.

It’s very homey with lots of character. A simple sign in, a time for breakfast in the morning that will be home cooked?! Love it. It’s like staying with my grandmother and grandfather.

We liked it all! Kevin and Kate have a wealth of knowledge having lived in the area for over 30 years. Kevin’s unique collection of vintage irons (the inspiration for the name of the charming place) and Kate’s fabulous breakfasts made for a fun and relaxing weekend. Our room was quaint and comfy and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. This was my first trip this far north into Maine but we will definitely plan to be back!
