The Abuelo is a jewel of a hotel in the Callejón! Modern, clean and an amazing proprietor. All are helpful and eager to please. Located in the middle of Carhuaz, they can quickly get you the best guides and transport. The cook is fantastic; it thus is the best restaurant in town and one of the best in the Callejón. We travel a lot, are very fluent in Spanish and would rank it among the nicest rural hotels in Latin America!

たいへんハートウォームなホテルでした。ご主人はじめスタッフの気配りで快適に過ごせました。ナグーナ69やパストルリ氷河に行くために早く出発しなければならないとき、朝５時半からレストランを開けてくださいました。ランチボックスももりもりでした。また、フロントにはワスカラン山麓のすばらしい地図とジオラマがあります。私たちは３泊して、高地順応のために車でオリンパス峠に行き、翌日パストルリ氷河へ、３日目にはラグーナ69にトレッキングしました。とにかく非の打ち所がないホテルでした。また、部屋には中庭はありませんが、どの部屋からも行けるオーガニックガーデンがあります。８月には、アマリリスが咲き、マンダリンが実っていました。

Family-owned, host took care of us
Local family-owned hotel. We were received by Hugo, one of the owners, who was friendly and helpful. He personally took care of our experience, making sure we were well served by the drivers he recommended. Hotel is conveniently located in a nice and safe town near the airport and with easy access to tourist attractions.

We had a very good stay at the Hotel Abuelo. The customer service was 5 star as well as the accommodations. Hugo (owner) was extremely helpful in recommending hiking guides. The food was so good we had dinner 3 nights in row. Thank you Hotel Abuelo

Este hotel en la ciudad de Carhuaz te hará sentir como en casa. La amabilidad de Hugo y Betty es increíble, listos para atender cualquier consulta o necesidad que tengas. Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas, el desayuno muy completo y las cenas absolutamente deliciosas. Cada detalle en este hotel se nota perfectamente cuidado y pensado para una experiencia placentera y muy cómoda. Tienen un huerto orgánico pequeño pero muy bonito y puedes sentarte en una pequeña terraza a tomar el sol y leer algo rodeado de plantas y flores. Carhuaz es un destino mucho más tranquilo que Huaraz, a menos altura y más cercano a casi todas las rutas de trekking y destinos turísticos de Áncash. Recomendadisimo

Lovely hotel and restaurant! Delicious Peruvian food and very welcoming staff. We had 2 early days while staying in Carhuaz and they provided us with delicious boxed lunches! Felipe, the owner and his staff were extremely friendly and hospitable! Highly recommend!

El Abuelo is an amazing hotel in the beautiful city center of Carhuaz. It is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and fresh, and they serve excellent drinks. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Prices are reasonable. They have a lovely garden courtyard full of fruits and vegetables. I love this place and look forward to returning. El Abuelo es un hotel increíble en el hermoso centro de la ciudad de Carhuaz. Es muy limpio y cómodo. El desayuno es delicioso y fresco, y sirven excelentes bebidas. El personal es muy acogedor y amable. Los precios son razonables. Tienen un hermoso patio con jardín lleno de frutas y verduras. Me encanta este lugar y espero volver.
