Great rooms. Everything as a expected. Clean. Calm neighbourhood with limited traffic. Very friendly and helpful person at the reception. Gated parking is small so we didn’t have space when we came back in the evening after visiting the old town. You can park your car at the side of the road. Didn’t take the breakfast but you have bakery very close which sells bread, croissants, baguettes and hot coffee. Hotel is very close to the town center.

Central, clean and dog friendly ! The room was a bit small . The staff was friendly and the surrounding area is perfect to walk your dog. Only 5 min from the cité carcassone. Dog fee 7€. Has a vending machine in the corridor.

This is a 2 star hotel not a 5 star hotel yet some people seem to have written their reviews on that basis which is exceedingly unfait. For a 2 star hotel it is ideal. I feel quite strongly about this as the owner goes above and beyond and it must be so demoralising to see reviews which hold the place to 5 star standards. It's not the Ritz but doesn't pretend to be. The location is great - it sits between the old town and la cite and vlose to restaurants and shops ( there's a nicebrasserie next door and a pizzeria just opposite) It is also clean and pretty spacious. The breakfast is simple but exactly what is needed - fresh bread/ croissants etc daily from the boulangerie at the corner of the street,/ yogurts with coffee/ tea on tap during the day (if the dining toom is open). In short it's great value for money. The owner is extremely helpful and was beyond generous with me when I had to report that my black pen had leaked on to the bedsheets and mattress. I have really enjoyed my time here. and would stay again if ever in Carcassonne

This hotel small but friendly, serving bed and breakfast only, is central to Carcassonne main town the railway station, canal boat trips and river. Not far away is the old and fortified town of Carcassonne and is a spectacle to see for a day excursion travelling there by the Petit train. Hotel de la Bastide has four floors and a lift to get you up to the floors you require. The rooms are ensuite with bath or shower and have king size beds. Carcassonne has many surprises in store every corner you turn is different and interesting and many restaurants to choose from for main meals. The tourist information is right by the canal side. There is also a hourly shuttle bus to and from the airport picking up and dropping off at the railway station. An excellent four days and night had by all with thanks to the staff at this great find.

The location is slightly remote, but is closer to Carrefour's integrated business centre. Surprisingly, the hotel room is equipped with an electromagnetic cooker and some kitchen utensils, you can make a simple meal yourself. Free parking, very convenient for self-driving tour.

My family and I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The rooms were small but very clean and efficiently designed. The bathroom was large, modern, and comfortable. The viewpoint up at the terrace for all guests was spectacular. We did not have any complaints. If we were staying for more than one or two nights though, we would have found our family room to be a bit small, which is not unusual in France. We were just glad the family room had a separate bedroom for the kids. Elderly guests should note that the hotel does not have an elevator. I hauled two midsize suitcases up three flights of stairs with my wife egging me on saying “You look like Rambo, good job honey!” As you can imagine, I look like John Belushi and the walk up was not fun. We only stayed for one night, which is the norm for tourists in this area, and ended up using our suitcases for just one change of clothes, our toothbrushes, and some face creams. If we were doing this all over again, we would have just stuffed our backpack with what we actually needed and left the two suitcases in the trunk of our rental car. Parking is complicated but efficient. You have to drive to the free parking lot, which is a few hundred meters away from the hotel, then walk to the hotel for a few minutes to notify them that you have arrived. The hotel will instruct you to remove the barrier at the entry to the street and drive up. Then, you can drop off your suitcases and family, and if you are not used to parking in tight European spaces like us, the hotel will park your car for you. The cost of private hotel parking was reasonable compared to the rest of France. It is extremely efficient and convenient, and in exchange you get to stay in a historical area that is blocked off to cars. We were extremely appreciative of the hospitality of the hotel, especially the fact that the manager personally parked our car. We thought it would be a bit insulting to tip the man in cash for such valet parking services, and instead we decided to buy two bottles of wine and a bunch of cheeses next door. The specialty foods store next door belongs to the hotel and has wines, cheeses, and pates local to the Carcassonne area. All in all, we were very happy with our stay. Pro tip: Do not stress out if you cannot capture a decent photo of the entirety of the castle walls while visiting the historical site. The hotel terrace has a perfect view of the entire citadel. Watch your head twice, not once, when walking through the doors that lead to the panoramic terrace.
