This lodge is for the adventurous and is 2 hours from Puerto Jimenez. Health warning: The road there requires a 4x4 so our approach during dusk hours was gnarly to say the least with 2 creeks to cross. That said when you arrive it’s a slice of unspoiled heaven. Cabins are in the rainforest and animals and birds including the Scarlet Macaw are everywhere. It’s directly opposite a beautiful beach with nobody there. The central communal area is gorgeous and the food was delicious and different everyday. We did the Coprot turtle tour and were rewarded with a once in lifetime experience of seeing a turtle laying her eggs. Tomas was so nice to us, and helped us a lot. there is a beach cabana house where you can relax but I must say it was off-putting having the team also relaxing there in the hammocks. Maybe I’m old school. Overall great but maybe not for everybody

We have visited Finca Exotica twice and my husband continues to describe it as the "best place on the planet". It is a true tropical paradise with the ecolodge self sustaining structures designed to have as small a footprint as possible to not interfere with the lush jungle and the wildlife who thrive on this serene and beautiful property. We stayed seven days and still were not ready to leave! Sisters Laura and Gabby are attentive and excellent hosts. Yoga training on the stunning ocean view deck was totally inspiring. We miss our open air cabana, pure air and the sounds of the jungle. Can't wait to return!

If you’re searching for a truly magical escape into nature, this eco-resort in Costa Rica is nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled deep in the lush jungle, the resort offers an unparalleled connection to the natural world while providing every comfort you actually need. The jungle huts are beautifully designed—rustic yet luxurious, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the surrounding flora. Waking up (and going to sleep) to the glorious sounds of the rainforest—exotic birds (toucans right in front of you! Macaws screaming by), howler monkeys (loud!), the petulant ocean—is an experience unlike any other. The yoga sessions are beyond inspiring (Flo is a pro), held in an open-air studio with breathtaking views of the mountains and jungle canopy. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a beginner, practicing here feels like pure serenity. Even had a coati band run through one morning! The food is exceptional (Kevin creates with passion), with fresh, locally sourced ingredients that showcase the vibrant flavors of Costa Rica. Every meal is a delight, from tropical fruits at breakfast to beautifully prepared dinners that nourish both body and soul. Wildlife is plentiful—colorful birds swoop overhead, and curious monkeys swing nearby. Every day brings a new sighting, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a nature documentary. Perhaps the most remarkable part of this eco-retreat is the incredible staff. If you’re lucky enough to meet Gabby (owner), she is a breath of fresh air. Truly. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. Her kindness, unmatched. The entire staffs warmth, knowledge, and genuine hospitality elevate the entire experience. They make sure every guest feels welcome, offering guidance on local hikes, conservation efforts, and the best ways to explore this stunning region. A resident growing pup named Chaska made my day everyday. This place is more than just a resort—it’s an experience of deep connection, tranquility, and awe. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or a little of both, this eco-paradise in the OSA Peninsula, is truly unforgettable. That 7 night stay truly fed my soul.

Finca Exotica is perhaps the most magical and special place we have ever visited. The natural elements of Carate and Corcovado are magic in and of itself, finca highlights that magic and brings it to a whole other level. Through their reverence for nature and deep care of those who stay, the energy feels like a family that were fortunate get a taste of. We did daily yoga with Flo who is an amazing teacher and wise guide, our tours with Laura were mind blowing, she is a wealth of knowledge, and has a palpable respect and joy in working with nature. Kevin’s delicious, healthy and diverse food (which we tried to get recipes for because we loved so much) and Gabby’s calm, kind and open presence… I truly can’t say enough good things about Finca Exotica and The Osa Experience. We are already planning our trip back next year.

Incredible rainforest paradise. I found this place by randomly googling and it exceeded all expectations. I stayed in the Mango Cabin and the ocean view was amazing. This part of Costa Rica is a totally different experience with wildlife everywhere you look. Scarlet macaws are abundant in the area! Even the drive to get to this lodge is an adventure. The hosts were incredibly kind and the meals provided were just as great as everything else. They arranged a tour into Corcovado which I would highly recommend. Only thing to be aware is the cabins do not have AC. Also some of the cabins are a good walk uphill to reach them. This was not a deal breaker for me as I wanted to truly be engrossed in the rainforest. If that’s the kind of experience you’re looking for look no further and just book one of these beautiful cabins!

Finca Exotica is a unique place in the world. To get there, between 1h45 and 2h00 by 4x4, a journey which is in itself an attraction. And then, when we got there, the reward: a real corner of paradise! We stayed in the Rancho lodge which is located about 5 minutes walk from the restaurant: upon reaching it, we quickly realize the exceptional view of the Pacific and the primary jungle that we will enjoy during our 3 days and the privilege we have to stay in this fantastic place. Gaby and Markus, the owners, were extraordinarily kind. By getting to know them, we understand why Finca Exotica is a place with such special karma. Thank you to them for their warm welcome. The cuisine, consisting of a starter, main course and dessert for each meal, is excellent. Finca Exotica is undoubtedly the favorite of our 3-week stay in Costa Rica! Pura Vida!

Das allseits bekannte "Wundermittel" gegen Covid - is klar.

Beautiful but difficult location to get to. Service was mediocre. Humidity unbearable...not even a fan above your bed. You can't sleep. Staff had their children there so it felt like we were an after thought as the children laid around on all the hammocks watching videos in the one area you could get internet. Even though we paid for meal plan, not even an offer of a banana when we had to leave very early in the morning. Don't expect a naturalist or recommendations for hiking in the area. I learned more from one of the other guests. Ice cold stream of water as your shower. I've been to eco lodges all over Africa and South America. They could do better.
