Fantastic stay, had the whole house to ourselves, family party of 20. Claire & Paul excellent hosts, couldn’t do enough for us. Food superb both dinner and breakfast cooked by chef Paul. Cosy open fire in the sitting room. Spacious bedroom with very comfortable beds. Beautiful house and gardens. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at Richmond house.

Stayed last weekend for a family wedding nearby. This lovely heritage manor house is the perfect place to chill and relax. Clare and her staff looked after us so well it really was a home from home. The house is absolutely lovely with many original features. The breakfast is fantastic. I'll definitely be back... highly recommend as a lovely relaxing location....

I was here yesterday (Sunday 22 ) for a family reunion. This was the perfect setting. Management & Staff were always available for any request. The food was scheduled for a specific time & it arrived bang on time. The food was also delicious. I must commend them on their dessert. Nothing was a problem for the proprietors. Their attention to detail only enhanced the occasion. Highly recommend!

Tucked away from N72, this is simply a delightful place. Run by the owners, a husband and wife team, this three hundred year old country house is a charming place with beautiful gardens, posh and comfortable rooms and is run efficiently and well maintained. The breakfast has a limited but excellent spread. It was simply an experience to treasure.

We spent a terrific few days at Richmond Country House. It was a three generational family gathering and we had the whole house to ourselves. The grounds are fabulous and the younger children could run free without concern. The house has lovely period pieces and very comfy chairs with a well-stocked book selection. Our lovely host was Claire who made us feel quite at home.

Lovely comfortable place to stay. Less than 10 minutes walk to Cappoquin. Plenty of outdoor spaces to relax as well as a cosy lounge. The rooms are big & the beds are so comfortable. The food is wonderful as are the staff. They are the key to beautiful old house. There is never a rush just relax. Ideal if you need a break from the world. Country lanes to explore which are so quiet or climb to Mount Melleray on a bike.

Small, intimate family run hotel and restaurant. Friendly and welcoming. Food delicate and delicious (Claire even suggested a different dish to the one I'd chosen which was excellent). Set in large grounds well away from main road. Country quiet. 5 star experience and I'd highly recommend.

My friends and I visited Richmond house this March and we were absolutely appalled at the staff, the food, the owners and the cleanliness of the rooms and restaurant. We received the wrong room and there was a huge delay and hassle to get the room we wanted. Then our food was a disgrace it was cold, not nice tasting and there were hairs in my dinner, my potatoes were undercooked and my meat was over cooked. I received a disgusting attempt at a chocolate cake for dessert and was disappointed even further with my experience. I will never be coming back to Richmond house nor recommending it to a friend or family member.
