Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is a league of it's own. Our driver picked us up from Cape Town and it took about 2 and a half hours to reach the gate of Sanbona
From the gate to our glamping tents was another 90 mins drive into an expansive dessert - 62,000 hectares
We got real lucky and saw Lionesses, Cheetah, Giraffes, Hippos, Rhinos, Baboons, Elephants etc. Our Guide Joe was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable
The glamping tents were so spacious, connecting you right back to nature with outdoor showers, jacuzzi etc
Our meals were fantastic, and they can accommodate to most dietary restrictions. We ended up trying both the Springbok, Kudu, Hake, Kingklip - all local delicacies
Love how South African wines were included in our full board experience allowing us to sample Bruts, Rosé and even their Pinotage
We ended the evening stargazing as usual, this time being able to see both the Southern and Northern Hemispheree

Sanbona game reserve is a very special place. The accomodation is amazing, the service is second to none and the game drives are an experience we will never forget. Their knowledge and experience of the animals was incredible and their passion for safeguarding the natural environment and the animals was really evident throughout our stay. We would highly recommend going to Sanbona!

An unforgettable experience from start to finish! The game drives were breathtaking – we saw lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and more, all in their natural habitat. Our field guide was knowledgeable and passionate, making each drive both thrilling and insightful. The food was exceptional, every meal a treat. The accommodation was out of this world – luxurious, peaceful, and beautifully designed. Add to that the warm and professional service from every staff member, and you have the perfect getaway. Sanbona is a true gem – we left with incredible memories and can’t wait to return.

Nous voyageons beaucoup à travers les 5 continents depuis une 20aine d’années. Et il nous en faut pour nous éblouir, étant nous-mêmes hôteliers. Force est de constater que cet endroit est un lieu d’exception et d’excellence. C’est dans le détail que l’on peut juger du niveau élevé ou pas d’un établissement. Ici, les tentes, leurs équipements et les services associés sont exceptionnels. La restauration (pension complète avec beaucoup de choses incluses et d’avantages) est excellente du petit déjeuner au dîner, cave exceptionnelle, est tout simplement parfaite. Le staff est du même niveau.. Notre guide, Ethan mérite 6*. Rien d’impossible pour lui ;) Du serveur au manager, cette équipe est triée sur le volet. Le parc animalier est génial. Nous avons pu approcher lions, guépard, éléphants, girafes, gazelles, élans, springboks, etc. Même la faune a été exceptionnelle. En résumé, « Just perfect ». 11/10. Cela a un prix, certes, mais que vous ne regretterez pas. Nous y reviendrons avec impatience. Merci à tous. Sam et Théo

My partner and I visited Sanbona for a few days in May. From start to finish we had the most beautiful stay and memories to last a life time! I can not recommend it enough. From the vastness of the landscapes to the beautiful accommodation and warm attentiveness of all of the staff - we felt so spoiled.

Excellent, stunning worth every cent. Righter was excellent as guide and driver. His knowledge was outstanding and his love for job was done with enthusiasm and love for his job was above everything else.
