Blackheath Lodge by the Oyster Collection

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon in October 2024 and we absolutely loved it. The staff members were so warm, welcoming, and helpful. They made our stay extra special as well given that it was our honeymoon. Our room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was delicious. A very charming boutique hotel that I highly recommend!

My husband and I had an amazing stay at the Blackheath lodge. The staff is incredibly kind, professional, and SO helpful. Breakfast every morning was delicious. Our room was perfect for 2 people. It was comfortable, stylish and clean. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in Capetown!

Blackheath Lodge is a charming, boutique guesthouse, located in the neighborhood of Sea Point, Cape Town, SA. A quick, 4-minute walk brings you to shopping, great restaurants and, of course, the Boardwalk along the Atlantic Ocean. The rooms at Blackheath Lodge are light and airy, with modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen televisions, complimentary Wi-Fi, and en-suite bathrooms. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, making jetlag recovery much easier! The Lodge also offers laundry service at a reasonable cost, making packing light easy! The swimming pool, in a central courtyard, is a haven of peace and quiet…in the middle of the city. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool after a day of sightseeing, enjoying the warm weather and a lovely glass of wine! For us, the best feature of Blackheath Lodge is its exceptional service and hospitality. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that every guest has a memorable stay. After our first introduction, we were always greeted by name; the staff were interested in how we spent our day and had wonderful recommendations for activities and restaurants. The entire staff at Blackheath Lodge was great! Everyone greeted us with a smile, asked if they could help us with anything and were prompt when fulfilling requests. During our stay, Karin, the manager, Raymond & Rhiano, the front desk staff, were absolutely amazing! They truly set the standard for outstanding customer service and the rest of the staff followed their lead. While at the Lodge, we had a few unique requests: 1) we needed to purchase a board game to present as a gift while we were traveling; 2) we needed to find stuffed penguins; and 3) we needed to purchase wraparound sunglasses. The staff happily helped us research where we could obtain all these purchases, saving us a lot of time and stress – we didn’t have to wander around the city trying to find them on our own. Having traveled all over the world, staying in various types of accommodations throughout our lives, from youth hostels to 5-star hotels, my husband & I rank Blackheath Lodge as one of our top choices in hotels. The rooms are lovely, clean and well cared for and the beds are comfortable; but the staff make Blackheath Lodge special – their care, concern and attentiveness truly makes this Lodge outstanding!

We had a fantastic stay at Blackheath lodge. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly and helpful, special shoutout to Riano, Simon and Comfort who went out of their way to accommodate us. We would recommend anyone that wants to go to Cape Town to stay here. Maarten & Kelly

If you want to be taken care of in Capetown on so many levels you need to book here. The whole staff is just as lovely as can be. The breakfast is just delicious, they have some treats and teas in the evening and a great little bar to have a nightcap. The lodge is very pretty. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet despite being in the center of the action and near restaurants. They have tips about being safe that we did and we were fine. ( e.g. use only Uber Black). They arranged two trips for us, one to the winery and one to the penguins and the Cape of Good Hope, and the drivers were very skilled about the area and the best places to see. The staff is what makes it so different from other places. For example, we made a mistake about an airport time and were running late , but the the manager arranged an uber, the staff ran up and retrieved our suitcases and we made it because of them. I cannot recommend this place enough.
