I went to the Mount Nelson for afternoon tea as a special day out for my mum’s birthday in Feb 2025. We had such a great experience. From the moment we arrived there was such attention to detail and we felt so well looked after. Our server was Thuli & she was so helpful and explained all the courses and how it would all work. There was so much more food than we expected and we could even request more if we wanted. Each course was even more delicious than the last. I had the vegan afternoon tea and I was so pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Often vegans have to miss out, but not at the Mount Nelson. We were sat inside which was lovely and cool as it was quite a hot day. We had a walk around the gardens and fountain which were gorgeous. Thanks to Thuli for making it such a memorable occasion for my mum’s birthday! We really appreciate it!

Seven of us - a family outing- had afternoon tea and it was excellent! Our waitress Thuli was so nice and very knowledgeable about all the food . The heated towel on arrival, sparkling wine and iced tea were a delightful bonus . Food was all delicious

High tea by the fountain was amazing, there is a great selection of different teas and the cheesecake was phenomenal. Such a nice atmosphere, with lovely music and gardens. Zona was so friendly and incredibly accommodating. Will definitely be back.

I had an evening at the chefs table on the 22nd of Feb ,what an amazing experience.Your staff was super attentive,the food was fantastic .Chef Isaac was wonderful and the passion is infectious.,and thank you to Mandy for the lovely paring of the wine fabulous job guys .

The Hotel is in a beautiful setting with views of the Lion's Head and Table Mountain. The Staff are very helpful. The roome I had was really excellent with plenty of storage space for cothes .The bedlinen and pillows were pure white and very comfortable. The bathroom lacks any storage space for cosmetics as there is no shelf or cupboard. I complained and was given a tray on wheels which I placed in the bathroom and this worked well. They really need to attend to this. It was good to have a master switch to turn off the lights. The buffet breakfast was outstanding as there was an enormous choice of food .

Lester made our afternoon tea experience on the terrace very special! The tea and coffee selection is outstanding and the food is excellent! The best afternoon tea experience we had in Cape Town. Thank you again to the Mount Nelson Team and especially Lester!
