Bittersweet Bed and Breakfast

We stayed at Bittersweet for 3 nights during the first leg of our Maine road trip. And even though we just left home, the homey feeling of this B & B made us feel like we’ve lived there all along. I overheard another visitor telling the owner how she always has trouble staying at places that are not home, but she felt very comfortable there - and I couldn’t agree more. The place just has this peaceful, welcoming energy which immediately relaxes you. Here are the 7 reasons to love Bittersweet: 1. Perfect location: tucked away from the main street yet within walking distance to everything - beaches, restaurants, shops. We walked everywhere and didn’t need to worry about parking. 2. Quiet: if you are looking for a place to de-stress and “disappear” from life and people for a while, you’ll find your zen here. 3. Hospitality: the owners Victor and Ray are genuinely happy to welcome you in their quiet oasis. Anything you need - just ask! Ice, fresh towels, restaurant recommendations - they are glad to be of service. 4. Cleanliness: was a huge factor for me and thankfully for the owners too (I asked!). The place is spotless, walls seem fresh painted, bathrooms have a modern look. 5. Comfort: loved our bed! I always find it hard to sleep in new places but I slept really well here. AC worked well (we traveled during the heat wave) and created a pleasant hum that lulled me to sleep each night. 6. Blueberry muffins: such a sweet touch to get fresh baked, still warm muffins with lots of blueberries inside every morning. 7. Victor’s stories: my natural curiosity prompted me to ask a lot of questions - about the name of the place, what it’s like living their in the winter, etc. and Victor was happy to provide the answers. I always appreciate a friendly exchange and a chance to learn something interesting about a place or people that live there. I highly recommend Bittersweet to any traveler who seeks peace, comfort and a homey feeling away from home.

Bittersweet Inn stay Wonderful bed and breakfast. Would definitely stay there again. Very clean rooms but quite small and cozy. Owners couldn’t have been nicer.
