Equinox Inn at Canyon Lake

Between all the lovely rooms, Darrin and Keith being so welcoming and Darrin’s amazing breakfasts the Equinox Inn is a wonderful place to stay. You’ll want to stay longer to enjoy more of those delicious breakfasts!

Wow, where do I even start? My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Equinox Inn at Canyon Lake from May 16 to May 19, 2025, and honestly, it was one of the best experiences ever. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I totally would! From the second we arrived, we felt like we had stumbled into a little slice of paradise. The place is so peaceful and private—it didn’t feel like I was at a typical bed and breakfast. It felt more like visiting family, the kind who really know how to make you feel at home. The vibe was super cozy, and the quiet surroundings were just what I needed to relax and recharge. The morning was spent in meditation and enjoying a cup of coffee, accompanied by the sweet songs of various birds. Deer also came close to the deck, with one even daring to eat from our hands. The hosts were amazing, Daren and Keith, so friendly and welcoming. You can really tell they love what they do. My room was super comfy, with charming decor that made it feel extra special. We were given a tour of some of the other rooms, and each one was uniquely enchanted. And don’t even get me started on the breakfasts! Every morning was a treat—delicious, hearty, and the perfect way to fuel up for the day. All in all, Equinox Inn at Canyon Lake is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway where you’ll be treated like family, this is the place. I’m already counting down the days until I can go back!

I haven’t done a B and B stay in decades. So I was very pleased to see how well the industry has evolved. The home was designed as a destination stay which surprised me as much as the wild deer that found sanctuary(and deer corn) mornings and evenings. All the birds in the close in trees were delightful. Food was good and plenty of snacks and drinks offered freely as well. We will be back.

We really loved the Equinox. The location was perfect for our needs. It's homey and welcoming. Hummingbird feeders and gurgling fountains created a restful ambiance. Each room is nicely appointed and cozy. Breakfast was wonderful. Keith and Darrin, the proprietors, were very accommodating and knowledgable of the area. We will stay here again when we are in the area.

Great location. The owners, Keith and Darrin, are super hospitable, knowledgeable and courteous. The room where we stayed (Crystal Cove) was quaint and very relaxing. The linens and bed were super comfortable. The layout of the room was spacious and the decor was great. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and the views from around Equinox Inn were warm and relaxing each day. It's quite accessible to New Braunfels and San Marcos for day trips. We certainly recommend this location for a weekend getaway.
