We didn't feel "warmly welcomed" at all. The wait staff was far from friendly and not at all motivated to serve us in a reasonable time. The mixed salad was varied and fresh, well-dressed, and wholesome. The minced meat with pasta was tasty, but a bit too oily. The extensive advertising for guests from the surrounding area motivated us to visit Taverne 1879, but unfortunately, we can't recommend it.

Je n'ai pas de mots pour décrire l'arnaque et la publicité mensongère de cet hôtel.
Il fait partie d’un gros resort, et contrairement a ce qui est dit sur la page, nous n’avons acces a aucun service! Pas de piscine, pas de salle de sport, tennis... L’hotel n’a pas d’accueil, de reception, les chambres sont petites et tres simples, bien que tres propres.
La responsable de réception est d'une hypocrisie et d’une mauvaise foi sans nom quand je lui montrais ce qui avait été promis sur la page de l’hotel comparé a ce que nous avions reellement. Aucun geste commercial n’a été fait, aucune excuse. Leur pratique commerciale est totalement honteuse et c’est scandaleux de la part d’hotel.com de continuer a promouvoir ce genre d’endroit malgré toutes les plaintes reçues.

Achtung: Alpine SPA kostet 260.- p.P. extra für 4h
Auf den Bildern bei den ********** Angeboten werden Pool-Bilder gezeigt. Nach der Buchung heisst es auf der Bestätigung, dass für das alpine SPA 100.- pro Person Aufpreis verlangt werden. In Wirklichkeit wurde uns an der Reception mitgeteilt, dass der Eintritt für 4 Stunden pro Person HF 260.- kostet. Wir waren enttäuscht von den Fehlinformationen. Ich habe auch beim Online Check-in angegeben, dass ich meinen Geburtstag feiere, jedoch habe ich beim ganzen Aufenthalt nichts davon gemerkt, dass das Hotel das irgendwie registrierte. Wozu wird denn diese Position (Special Occasion) überhaupt von den Gästen abgefragt? Zimmer und Frühstück waren in Ordnung, Nachtessen im Waldhaus mässig.

The Taverne 1879 restaurant is part of the Bürgenstock Resort, above Lake Lucerne. You can reach the Bürgenstock by car, but it is much more interesting to take the catamaran ferry from Lucerne across Lake Lucerne to Kehrsiten and from there take a funicular up the very steep stretch of about 500 meters. Once you get to the top, you will find a beautifully designed complex with several buildings that belong to the resort and encourage you to take a walk. For lunch, we went to the Taverne 1879, a very well-kept building in the Alpine style with a wonderful view of the alpine pastures and mountains. Ordering and paying for the food is done with a cell phone and a QR code assigned to each table, which worked wonderfully. The quality of the cuisine met expectations. Like the house, the service is very well-kept, friendly and courteous. Combined with a short hike on the Bürgenstock and a coffee in the resort itself at the end, this was a day trip for us, a unique experience, although all in all quite expensive.

The Taverne 1879 restaurant is beautifully situated on the Bürgenstock. The view from the terrace is unique. We were given a very friendly welcome and accompanied to our table. The very friendly waitress brought our little daughter something to paint, which she really enjoyed. The dishes were all delicious and were served quickly. The Taverne 1879 is a perfect restaurant for young and old - we will definitely come back.

Unable to take an order properly and in addition the extra dishes that you 1) did not order and 2) did not eat since you sent them back ... are still on the bill but I realized it too late, the bill was already paid and I was no longer there. It's very pleasant!
