Had a great stay, very well located next to the city centre a stones throw away from the shops, clean and comfortable but most importantly the staff where amazing, the lady who checked us in was so attentive, and was able to answer all of our questions. I think her name was hayley or kayley. The team on the following mornning had been amazing too. The only thing you need is some sort Bluetooth speaker in the room to play music. This would be a nice touch.

Stayed for two nights in room 114. Air handling plant located within 18 inches of windows and could hear a constant humming all night even with the windows closed. Parking is not good either and had to pay a lot of money to leave my car in a public car park all weekend

Worst place we've ever stayed in. We paid over £350 for a 2 night stay with breakfast. Firstly the room was tiny. Like a cell. I could sit on the bed and almost touch both walls. The bed was very uncomfortable and very, very squeaky! The floorboards and stairs all banged and creaked everytime anyone walked on them. The carpets were covered in stains and frayed, and not even stuck down in places. The doorstop was at the bottom of the bed, a nice position for you to bang your toes on when getting up. The toilet could barely flush anything more substantial than a piece of toilet paper. A soap dispenser stuck on the shower wall that dispensed a dettol smelling liquid. Breakfast wasn't very edible either. Raw bacon, undercooked scrambled eggs set the tone. Barely saw any staff members either. Give it a miss. Daylight robbery.

Hotel was clean but room was very basic and generally very overpriced. Bed linen material not to our liking. Would've chosen ground floor room if it had been an option. Check in day reception guy had an attitude although check out day guy was lovely. Bar staff non existent and £3.45 for a small can of pepsi was extremely unacceptable. Wouldn't recommend

Excellent location, lovely rooms, spotlessly clean, bar & food area lovely and super friendly staff. Beds are super comfy. Great value for a Friday nights stay with a short walk to Canterbury Cathedral and all that Canterbury has to offer. We had a room on the ground floor and it was super quiet.

This is a large and well located hotel for sightseeing in the city centre. The staff were helpful and welcoming and my room was comfortable. There is also a cafe where you can get an evening meal (including the offer of a meal deal) and where a good quality breakfast is served each morning. The building, which is Listed, has been an hotel for many years and the artist who created Rupert Bear, Mary Tourtel, lived there for the last 10 years of her life. The references to Rupert throughout the hotel are fun and charming, and bring back happy memories to those of us who grew up with him!!

I was amazed the location where the hotel is situated. The look of the building is very magnificent. You have to pay to park wich isn't cheap. The reception was young seem very nice and helpful as my first expressions. The hotel is only have two staff. The person who works at the bar is the waiter butler and housekeeper. The reception staff only booked in guest and try to handle complaints. My room was a totally disaster. Very poor decorative. Very small room everything is cramped inside the small room no space total crazy. The bed light in the room didn't work. The toilet didn't work. I complain about the shoddy condition that I paid for. My complaint went against me the hotel attendant said I was shouting. I was only putting across my concern instead to be very remorseful my complaint of the hotel negligence was turned against me.

The travelodge in Canterbury is in the perfect place for a solo tourist. The cathedral, which is amazing, is a short walk away as is the beautiful river. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was great and helped start each day perfectly. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I certainly recommend the Chaucer Canterbury for anyone. A great stay, thanks Travelodge
